What the mainstream media won't show you: The Border Wall IS Being Built...

video at link

Looks like a construction project of a tall steel slatted fence in progress somewhere on the border.

Posted as a separate thread for Hoosiermama.

Yes, I would like to see a MazeRunner type wall also. But the thing I think everyone if missing is the desire to have more border guards and all sorts of high tech gadgets all of which require maintenance personnel and operators AND ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS -the RATS will refuse to appropriate just like they are doing now. Build the wall and the only thing the RATS can do is propose a bill to tear it down - it will work the rest of my life all by itself. Border patrol of course keep climbers in check.

BORDER WALL OR SHUT IT DOWN. Yes I know we need personnel at the border but you already see the RATS do not even want a ICE - how in the world do you think there will be funding for ICE???????

Well, you got me good!

No, I don’t have any ideas how to get that done, but I’m convinced Trump hasn’t given up on his ‘big beautiful wall’.

I’ve been a Trump fan since the time he publicly played with running in 2011, and was mocked for my support back then.

I’ve had my tagline since the early primaries, mid summer 2015 when I got tired of arguing over whether Trump even knew how to build a wall.

A fifty pound backpack, OMG, that’s inhumane!

Heeheehee... I can tell you’ve never been in shape.

And you need a 35-foot rope on an 18-foot wall? BWAHAhahaha, got math?

Obviously, you DON’T know what a rope is, or how to use it.

Still will not shut the idiots up on our side saying the wall is not being built, whilst the Democrat propaganda media will do, and try anything to undermine this President

How tall is this fence? What about those short cross-bars at intervals? Won’t those make convenient places to throw a grappling hook? And what happens when the steel begins to rust and weaken? Won’t the spaces allow incendiary stuff to be thrown into the U.S., start fires and stuff? Can’t the illegals use the same sort of climbing loop that people going up telephone poles use?

These new bollards in San Diego/Tijuana are eighteen footers - taller pieces are used on steeper slopes (up thirty feet). A second barrier will be built behind this one, which will be thirty foot tall its whole length. The space between the barriers (enforcement zone) is kept clear of vegetation, so there is minimal fire risk around San Diego. In many areas of the border, there will just be a single bollard barrier - but there has never been a big arson threat so far.

The short cross bars are only temporary braces, till the concrete foundations cure. The steel is a special formulation (Cor-Ten), that forms a protective surface rust, which actually seals it from corrosion. The bollards are filled with concrete, which keeps rainwater out, and greatly strengthens the structure. Cor-Ten structures in less favorable environments are in good shape fifty years later.

The 5-6 inch spaces between bollards can allow some things to pass through, but they are highly desired by Border Patrol. They allow Officers to see what is going on over the other side. They can issue verbal commands, photograph, pepper spray, tase, or even shoot in self defense. Cameras with night vision are used to monitor and record, 24x7. Officers detect activity much earlier with see through barrier, and have more time to respond. It provides bad guys no cover for attempts to dig under or cut through, and the huge ladders that would be needed can be seen coming from far away.

Tree/pole climbing harnesses can be used on bollards (some people can climb Mount Everest with ropes and ladders). The anti-climb plate at the top presents a difficult obstacle to that approach however. The military deployment to the border (which has been extended through at least September) has mounted rolls of concertina along the back side (American side) of the anti-climb plates around some of the Ports of Entry. This has so far proven to be very effective at stopping those who do get to the top (usually by ladder). It is too high to jump, and the concertina is shielded from cutting behind large solid steel plates. DoD has announced that the Military deployment will install 150 miles of concertina between Ports of Entry, so some of that may be reinforcing bollard barrier in high traffic areas.

Wow, $1,200 on Amazon.

Or you can steal them for nothing. The Hilti you looked up was top of the line commercial model. here is one that will work for $30.00

99% of illegals are lucky to own a good hammer.

George can afford a few for the caravans he is sending. Of course they make chainsaw like powered Concrete/steel saws as well which are not all that expensive. Then there is also Jaws of life that can be stolen from fire trucks and don't forget explosives are not that hard to come by especially by cartels that want to distract the popo.

Walls slow them down but what happens after they get through them is what counts.

Work already contracted in previous budget.

My suggestion (can’t get my Representative or Senator to listen):
1. Declaring an emergency will generate expected court challenges and other hysterical road-blocks from the left.
2. The president, as Commander-in-Chief, orders the Army Corps of Engineers to use existing and budgeted operations and training funds to build the wall.
3. The Corps of Engineers trains all the time as they build various projects. . .so instead of building semi-useless training projects, they build the wall.
4. Once the Corps of Engineers starts building the wall, the left will be caught flat-footed as they can’t stop the president from exercising his power as Commander-in-Chief.

Do it now because the dems occasionally make noise about inserting language in the defense authorization bills prohibiting use of Corps of Engineers to build the wall.

If the court challenges can be kept under control, and not extend until Trump presidency expires, I am all for it.

Slow then down is one of the goals. Stop if possible but no wall is ever 100% effective.

Slowing them down is good, delaying them as long as possible so sensors are tripped and an alert to Border Patrol Agents is sent and tells the Agents where the attempted breech is happening.

The border is long and remote, mostly, and an alarm tripped allows the Border Patrol Agents a location to head to so they can catch the illegals aliens at the wall or cuts down the time between the breech and arrival of the Agents.

Indeed, that is why he orders the Corps of Engineers to accomplish a mission (build the wall), this will avoid a court challenge because he did not declare and emergency.

I don’t understand why they would build the fence so close the the Mexican border (the lady filming the video walks right up to it and she says she is in Mexico).

I thought there was supposed to be a buffer zone of US territory so that US border patrol could patrol and maintain BOTH sides of the fence. Overhead drones could spot trespassers before they even reached the fence - and if they were transporting tools or equipment - they could be intercepted and arrested for trespassing and willful distruction

If the fence is right on the border, as the lady says, what is to stop a ladder truck or a bucket truck from driving right up to the fence, equipped with rope ladders and such, and easily helping people over the top? Such equipment is used by tree trimmers, roofers, and gutter cleaning services, and would not seem at all out of place on that road. Tunneling would also be a snap with such immediate access to the fence. Excavation equipment could be driven right up to the fence without raising eyebrows, and the tunnel would only need to be a few yards long.

Am I missing something? Is there perhaps a second fence further into US territory?
