Im nominating Leah Remini for this years John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award. Let me tell you why.
For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with the religion of Scientology. As a child I was a big fan of L. Ron Hubbards science fiction writing. My mom used to get me a subscription to Isaac Asimovs monthly sci-fi publication and often there were short stories from Hubbard.
One day I mistakenly checked out his Scientology handbook Dianetics and while I was grossly disappointed to discover it was not the sci-fi romp Id hoped for, it did launch my lifelong obsession with the weirdness that is Scientology.
By the time Leah Reminis very public denouncement of her former religion came about I had probably seen or read nearly every available documentary or publication challenging the Church of Scientology (COS).

I would not mind if all tax exempt status went away.
Any organization that consumes police ‘protection,’ and fire department readiness needs to be paying taxes.
They are both cults. My sister was a JW for 50+ years and just dropped out. Even her best friends have unfriended her. Not a single JW friend will talk to her. Even her 50+ year friend who was our step mom at one time.
Thanks.....hope it happens! She deserves it. I’m still having trouble believing she got an Emmy in the political world as it exists in Hollywood/NYC and elsewhere today. Maybe THEY don’t have as much pull as in the past...They meaning scientologists.
Yes, XLNT series
They are sure protected by people in high places and IRS turns a blind eye. It must be why they need to raise so much money - that’s all they do - for payoffs. Why aren’t they prosecuted under RICO statutes? They rip people off and they are ripped off willingly which is mind blowing.
And yet no one will get to the bottom of where Miscavige’s wife Shelly disappeared to!!! L.A.P.D. didn’t care enough to keep investigating and that creep of a husband of hers gets away with whatever he did to her. And yet those dummies all troop into their buildings fat, dumb and happy and sit down for their daily dose of brainwashing - which they have to pay for - whether it’s from a speaker, or a book or hooked up to a machine! INCREDIBLE!
P. T. Barnum!!!!!

“”Tom Cruise admitted that Katie left him to protect their daughter Suri from that evil cult.””
That was what was reported and she showed courage and common sense to do so. Types like him and Travolta and Kirstie Alley and other celebrities will never ever admit what fools they’ve been so they will continue to support IT...can’t call it a church as it’s a far cry from being any kind of church. Never see Alley get any movie or TV roles anymore, do we? Hmmm and anything Cruise or Travolta get paid for aren’t worth watching.
Remember, anyone as high up as Cruise, Travolta, etc., has had to tell and have recorded, EVERY single thing they’ve ever done or said, to Miscavage. They’re being blackmailed.
Great show. She, Rinder and ALL of the ex ‘church’ members who are speaking out deserve awards.
They will never leave, the cult would use the sins and dirt they have spilled and recorded in their years of "tin can auditing sessions" to utterly destroy them just as the cult has made it a point of destroying the lives of any prominent (and regular) cult member who leaves.
I'd like to know the govt agency and names of those who gave 'em that status in the first place. Even at the time, it was a glaring how-could-you-miss-it fraud/cult.
Kinda, sorta.
He's basically The Lord of The Flies. If any of his subjugated, mind controlled minions were to ever raise a hand against him, the others would stomp the living crap out of them.
I know this from personal observation from inside the cult.
Last report (some years ago) she was working at the church compound in the San Bernardino mountains.
Trust me, there aren't as many "dummies" taking Scientology services as there used to be. Per my observations (as a former member) attendance has shrunk about 90% over the last thirty years.
The 'church' is gradually dying, as older members expire, or sneak out the back door, and younger members say "no thanks" to the cult-like practices and heavy handed money grubbing of church fund raising.
David Miscavige also destroyed the workable parts of their core practices years ago, which has resulted in a broken parishioner base who've gained little benefit from Scientology services in a very long time. That alone has caused a huge exodus over the decades.
“Types like him and Travolta and Kirstie Alley and other celebrities will never ever admit what fools theyve been so they will continue to support IT”
almost guaranteed those three are being blackmailed by the CoS ...
No. Most ex church members don't have a tear jerker horror story to tell. I saw a lot during my forty years in the cult, but expeienced little direct harm.
Others weren't so lucky. Those are the ones you see on Leah's show.
Thanks for sharing.
You bet. Me and Nully have both seen the cult from the inside over decades. Anything you want to know, just ask either one of us.
