On Monday evening in Houston, a dozen armed men broke into the home of Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas, a middle-aged couple who had lived in the house at 7815 Harding Street for at least two decades. The first man through the door, who was armed with a shotgun, used it to kill one of the couple's dogs. Tuttle responded to the home invasion by grabbing a revolver and shooting the man with the shotgun, who collapsed on a sofa in the living room. As Nicholas tried to disarm the intruder, his accomplices shot her. Tuttle returned fire, and by the end of the shootout he and his wife were both dead. Four of the assailants were hit by gunfire, while a fifth injured his knee.

What's wrong with this picture? Plain clothes officers conduct no knock entry. Officers shoot first killing the dog. House had no video surveillance cameras. No heroin found at the location. Investigation began with a tip from a neighbor

Investigation began with a tip from a neighbor Maybe the dog pooped on a neighbor's lawn, and the neighbor "swatted" them.

This one stinks, waiting for the truth to come out. Of course Houston has the former Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo who is a gun grabber. So no political agenda for the Chief!

Pretty much business as usual for these types of raids. The question people have to ask is “What prevents this from happening to me or a loved one?” Answer, “Nothing really.”

Does it matter? Was there any indication that a normal search warrant including request for entry would be met with force?

Hmmmm. Guess Roger Stone and Mrs. Stone should be glad it was the fbi and not the hpd that popped them in the pre-dawn/near sunrise raid then? This is not good for the folks in blue if it proves out.

Acevedo is a big part of the problem. He has a history of this in Austin and even farther back when he was working in California.
