Just one day after she formally announced her presidential bid in Oakland to big crowds and applause, Kamala Harris is already on her backfoot, flip-flopping on a major campaign stance right out the gate. Monday, she said this, causing lots of murmuring among Democrats who distanced themselves from her sweeping pie-in-the-sky proposals. According to CNN:
Sen. Kamala Harris of California renewed the party's debate over single-payer health care in a CNN town hall Monday, saying she's willing to end private insurance, which more than 170 million Americans use.
"We need to have Medicare-for-all," said Harris. "Who of us has not had that situation, where you've got to wait for approval and the doctor says well, 'I don't know if your insurance company is going to cover this.' Let's eliminate all of that. Let's move on."
As the furor grew, a Harris adviser on Tuesday signaled that the candidate would also be open to the more moderate health reform plans, which would preserve the industry, being floated by other congressional Democrats.
Oh. Maybe something like this was going on:
Looks like someone got a call from some big money donors saying to stop with the crazy talk or we’re pulling our dough. — DCL (@danlyons21) January 30, 2019
Which makes her look pretty wretched and puppety. Did she actually think this 'me-as-president' idea through?
Doesn't sound like it. You want to propose something crazy and sweeping, you'd better be prepared to defend the idea if you care about your credibility. Yet she backtracked on her proposal for single payer health insurance one day after she made it, to say that, well, no, she didn't really mean to say that everyone's health insurance should be taken away

Schultz recalled a clip previously aired of Senator Harris supporting Medicare for all by saying "she wants to abolish the insurance industry."
"That’s not correct. That’s not American," Schultz said. "What’s next? What industry are we going to abolish next? The coffee industry?"
Schultz is a mild-mannered guy with a nice, Alan Alda-style manner, but you can call this former Starbucks CEO "The Kamala Slayer" for the ease with which he dispatched Harris's half-baked ideas so touted with a straight face in the corrupted and uncritical Beltway press hive.
At least Schultz knows how the real world works. Harris, who's never held a non-government sinecure in her entire charmed life, never ran anything. She got ahead politically through her relationship with California political fixer Willie Brown.
I want Kome-on-all Harris and Faux-A-Haunt-Us to be the 2020 ticket.
Too late. AOC has endorsed her statement.
Funny, health care was affordable back when the government wasn’t involved and the industry had to charge what the market would bear - e.g. free enterprise.
Well, coffee is said to be bad for you.
Kampala is in reality running for VP. She can afford these gaffes.
RE: I want Kome-on-all Harris and Faux-A-Haunt-Us to be the 2020 ticket.
Here’s my fearless prediction: It will be Billionaire Michael Bloomberg. You read it here first.
Doesn’t really matter. She still has a year-plus of experience or tighter control to get her act together before people are paying real attention.
I still think a Kamala/Beto ticket is somewhat likely.
Kamala Harris just isn’t ready for prime time
////////////////////////////
No, no, say it ain’t so.
We need every trashy extreme leftist out in public running for office. Slashing and clawing each other with their sharpened fingernails. Digging for dirt and punching below the belt.
Leaving a divided Dem electorate to watch the swearing in of President Trump in 2021.
If Kamala doesn’t stay in the race then think of her realization about that futility:
“I wore out my sore keister night after night taking on Willie Brown and the other even uglier scumbreaths and now I get nothing for it? It can’t be.”
She’s also going to have to backtrack on that absurd gun control stance of hers, one way or another:

If the "big" people are behind her it won't matter. The media will carry the water for her.
He meant to say “The Covfefe Industry”
Healthcare is still affordable in Thailand and India, both have no gov’t involvement.
Kamala-toe-the-party-line hasnt engaged in this much gymnastics since her early days with Willie
Neither was Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota boy.
But, as stupid and untalented as he was (and is), he still impressed the MSM (which rank right at the bottom of the intelligence and talent pool).
As such, this does not bode well. The woman is the very definition of a bimbo (as is Occasional Cortex). But she is a progressive, loud mouthed, has no ability to think logically, and couldn’t calculate her way out of an addition problem. As such, good chance she’ll be high on the Democrat list for presidential candidate. (After all, she’ll be so easy to manipulate.)
Not ready for prime time?
Well, that entirely depends on which of professions she ultimately chooses. In her prior job, as a well-paid whore, she might well be able to make it at least in the manner that Stormy Daniels makes it. In her current, off-shoot version of that profession...perhaps she is over her head.
Oh, we WANT Kamala front and center, she is like Herself, breathing up all the oxygen in the room, yet a convenient piñata to continue to swing at (with one corner lifted on the blindfold so we don’t miss). With all the baggage and controversies surrounding dear Kamala, she will have to do a great deal of artful dodging to escape most of it.
But never all of it.
that’s what happens when you spread your legs for too many ‘donors’
She would benefit, like Obama did, from the MSM treating any disagreement or criticism of her as racism.
Trump won by carrying several swing states and states which were thought to be safe for Hillary...but not by wide margins. Harris could out-perform Hillary in those states. I'm not saying she would win but we should not be complacent.
