Ok this may be a bit sensational, but it is interesting.

A small team of Israeli scientists think they might have found the first complete cure for cancer.
We believe we will offer in a years time a complete cure for cancer, said Dan Aridor, of a new treatment being developed by his company, Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies Ltd. (AEBi), which was founded in 2000 in the ITEK incubator in the Weizmann Science Park. AEBi developed the SoAP platform, which provides functional leads to very difficult targets.

Thank you for the well wishes, friends. Much appreciated.
Sorry for your loss. Unlike squamous cell and basal cell there isn’t a strong correlation between sun exposure and melanoma. Melanoma can appear on skin that barely even sees the sun or as in your wife’s case, may not even be on the visible surface. My guess as to why your wife didn’t respond to checkpoint inhibitor therapy is since it wasn’t a solar induced melanoma it had low ‘mutational burden’. Checkpoint drugs tend to do well only when there are a lot of mutations in the cancer cells that make them clearly visible to the immune system. Same reason why heavy smokers who get lung cancer do better than non smokers getting lung cancer.
Indeed. Along with cancer our knowledge of immunology is also expanding at a rapid pace because the two now almost go hand in hand.
Liberals will lament that more people will start smoking.
Among my many prayers today, one was for you.
Sounds good. We do need healthy treatments for people who have cancer that is making them ill. Good luck to them.
But we need to also focus on preventing cancers from making us sick. I think that is an all-encompassing goal. The outlier patients studied with untreatable cancers who survive with health intact for many years seem to be able to counteract the cancer cells with healthful lives in many ways, turning cancer into a chronic slight bother rather than a devastating acute terminal illness.
Sadly you have nailed it. Western medicine has zero motivation to cure cancer.
All the best to you.
I loved the book Radical Remission. Lots of good things to follow up in there.
She had a history of both squamous and basal growths. In HS and college she was at Jones Beach as much as at home. Because of this she had semi annual dermatolgy exams. In fact she had one three weeks before her first manifestation which was thought to be breast cancer as it appeared in her left axillary. When the biopsy came back the docs were shocked. She went for ENT, GYN, and Opthamolagic exams which found nothing. She had similar manifestations that Jimmy Carter displayed a year later. She had radiation, yervoy, and then temodar to hopefully give some pause to allow Yervoy time to work. Of course nothing worked. Just last week I watched an ad for NY Presbyterian announcing their success in treating stage 4 melanoma. I really shouldnt be but I was angry watching. As my beloved said often in the hospice, And so it goes.
No, Windy. I didnt know. Prayers for full healing for you, friend.
Like I just said to someone else, I loved the book Radical Remission. I listened to it on audible recently, and like my daughter said, it seems like Siri is reading you a book, but its so worth it. It took me in some directions that I hope will help my own health situation.
Prayers for you, my FRiend.
May He wrap His healing arms around you.
“Western medicine has zero motivation to cure cancer”
Please, this is nonsense. Cancer is a tough disease to cure.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, friends. I mean that.
I know I haven’t said much about my condition here. I just didnt want to cause any worry amongst people I care for so much.
I didnt mean individuals. There are blessed doctors and researchers who want desperately to stop the scourge of cancer.
But the basis of western medicine is pharmaceuticals that are patentable and make people a lot of money. They build the schools and the schools study the pharmacological treatments, other than straight surgeries or mechanical subjects (orthopedics). So their motivation is to discover medicines and treat cancers with it, not prevention or cures.
Cars should be covered with rubber exteriors but the reason they arent has nothing to do with safety or money saving.
Godspeed to both of you. Prayers...
I personally would consult a clinician or two I trusted.
Who knows how immunogenic their molecules will be. They’ll just have to be tested. What’s more funky is that this approach is hardly novel, it’s being highly hyped by non-science outlets, and it’s coming out of a part of the world that does this kind of dubious biomedical porn regularly. THIS ONE TINY ISRAELI BIOTECH COMPANY IS MAKING SURGICAL ONCOLOGISTS ALL OVER THE WORLD NERVOUS!
I personally have little doubt that the first real hints of future successes against any given cancer will not be out of some startup with a name like “Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies” at a gay “incubator” promoted by Drudge or NewsMax.
Thank you, TT.
“if TRUE” the evil in this world will control it
