An accidental encounter with a boatload of undocumented aliens shows how tough it is to police

RIO BRAVO, Texas - In theory, the Border Patrol could prevent the flow of undocumented aliens into the U.S through a combination of high-tech approaches such as electronic sensors and a heavy presence of agents on the ground.

I discovered the limits of that theory as I was poking around the town of Rio Bravo on Tuesday with Andre the photographer.  As we pulled up to the banks of the Rio Grande in this small town near Laredo, we saw three Border Patrol vehicles stationed so the agents could keep an eye on the banks of the river.  But that’s not easy, especially not in this spot. Upstream a bit there’s a long, heavily vegetated island blocking the view of the Mexican bank of the river.

A migrant - or party of migrants – can make it to the island unseen and then just wait for a chance to make the short sprint across the small channel separating the island from the United States.  The bank is steep in most spots, but there’s one culvert that drops down to river level. We figured we’d wander down there to get a closer look.

As I poked around, Andre started shooting a video of the scene.  Then something totally startling happened. An inflatable boat packed with people emerged from the reeds just a few yards from us. Apparently they’d mistaken us for border agents.

We, the citizens used to be the boots on the ground.

Millions of boots on the ground.

Bush 2 let 500 trucking companies from Mexico drive all over this land of ours that many of us fought for. The Bush family is a damn joke. The Bush family is run by the old bag.

“We, the citizens used to be the boots on the ground.

Millions of boots on the ground.”

But go down there now and try to run off the people illegally crossing and we will be arrested.

We should be able to go to the border armed, and justified in our efforts to stop this nonsense. A few hundred dead illegal border crossers would act as a deterrent, I’m sure.

But then, I’m not particularly politically correct...

Interesting. What would be the solution along the Rio Grande? Maybe barriers with some guarded exits/entries so that that part of U.S. territory is still accessible to Americans?

"Bush 2 let 500 trucking companies from Mexico drive all over this land of ours that many of us fought for."

And almost everyday there has been big rigs involved in collisions. I wonder how many of them are the trucking companies from Mexico.

The wall and boots on the ground at the border will certainly help, but the only thing that’ll shut them down completely is to stop giving them welfare and stop them from working by locking up the people that hire them.

I agree. Trump has exposed the Beltway AFGE SES trash to us. Mueller, Brennan, Comey, etc. were all Federal AFGE Union SES TRASH. Trump had and may still have these SES punks within his range of being fired. I recall real SES managers in the
80’s -90’s. Sadly, we had a fag Pres. plus his drag queen in our nation’s highest office. White House, my fanny, as we had the drag queen and our first fag in chief. SAD.

One needn't be in college to understand what Kent State II would mean.
