Hannity said on the radio that the 3 week deal to reopen the government was in the works for two weeks which was asked from many Dems in Senate and House who secretly are willing to give Trump the Wall in exchanged for DACA and other measure but for Pelosi and Schumer putting great pressure on them not to make any deal.
That these growing numbers of democrats along with some Republicans told the President to give them 3 weeks to TRY to work a deal in Congress and if not then the government can be shutdown again or Trump can go ahead and do an National Emergency. Hannity said that many may come out of the shadow if they can work a deal out. That it may be done in the Senate but that the great question is whether the House can overcome Pelosi in getting a deal done
Shut it down AND declare an emergency. There should be no doubt it’ll be taken yo the 9th

I’m not sure I agree with Trump on this but I trust he wants what we want. I’m with Trump 100%
I have heard “hold the line” many times during this political dog and pony show. My estimation is that we did not hold that line. Maybe I am missing something with future events to be played out.
Trust Trump. He just added another ace to his hand. The Congressional Research Office confirmed that he can use Pentagon counter drug money to build the “fence” in “drug trafficking” areas. Which is just about everywhere, because they will keep moving as the walls get built.
Hannity is just as gullible as he was on election day in 2012. Hannity gushed when Bill Cunningham told him the lines at polling stations in Pubbie areas in Ohio were around the block.

Trump looks like the good guy who did what was needed to be done for the people because he cares about we the people. Pelosi and Schumer could care less about the hurting people because of their hatred Trump and the desire for power. In this case he put we the people ahead of himself. People with a heart will realize how hateful and non-caring the democrats are.
Pretty much describes Hannity. You got a love him but he lives in a different world.
Sure he could have, but this way he's showing the mushy middle that he's the bigger man in this fight.
This is politics. He has to position himself on the high ground in order to solidify and grow support for his plan.
Most especially if he thinks he's going to be forced to call a state of emergency and go it alone on the wall.
He'll need all the support he can get.
From statements made by various ‘rats, including #2 in the House Steny Hoyer, over the last week or so I believe there are a number who would be willing to vote on a deal including what Trump wants - they have to have the courage to come out in public and buck Pelosi though, and that’s where the holdup seems to be - maybe the three weeks will make a difference - but I’m not holding my breath...
It is Pelousy’s job to defeat him in 20 she has the power hand with the speaker job. If a dem wants to support trump, she will withhold PAC and campaign money from the DNC or primary them out of congress.
I'm thinking that Trump is easing the pressure so that people will develop even more horror of the possibility that it will be reapplied.
He hasn't given up his ability to shut down the government in 3 weeks, and some weenies in the Senate (Mitt Romney, prominent among them) are already working to backstab him, and so I think he's doing exactly what he needs to do under the circumstances.
He's going to look reasonable, and Nutsy Pelosi is going to look like the mad cow she is.
Also the text of this thread topic encourages me. It seems to have the ring of truth about it.
