Marc Thiessen: Imagine if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were a conservative
Fox News.com ^ | January 25, 2019 | Marc Thiessen

f Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were a conservative, all anyone would be talking about is how uninformed she is. She would be facing trick questions from reporters designed to expose her lack of knowledge, and brutal sketches on "Saturday Night Live" mocking her intelligence and fitness for office. Instead, SNL fawns over her, while CBS's "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert -- far from making jokes at her expense -- eats ice cream with her and asks how many and "f -- s" she gives about her critics.

Boy, it's good to be a socialist.

It's not that there is a lack of material. This week, for example, Ocasio-Cortez declared that "the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change." She has said that $21 trillion in "Pentagon accounting errors" could pay for most of her massive $32 trillion Medicare-for-all plan -- as if there were $21 trillion in unspent tax dollars sitting around in a Pentagon vault. She opined that "just last year we gave the military a $700 billion dollar budget increase, which they didn't even ask for" -- unaware, apparently, that the entire Pentagon budget is $716 billion. She wrongly claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement "is required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night and that number has only been increasing since 2009" -- when ICE is required only to have that number of beds available and that number has remained flat. She has declared that "unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs" -- which is flatly untrue. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 6 million to 7 million Americans with two jobs and 148 million with just one.

I don’t have to imagine. Sarah Palin is a conservative and was infinitely more accomplished and intelligent than Sandy Taco Rosado.

They would also be investigating the living p*ss out of her for voter fraud. Her district has one of the highest concentrations of illegals in the country and we KNOW they don’t vote right?

Based on what she says, it is not possible for me to imagine her as a conservative. Also, if she has any kind of degree from Boston University, then shame on the president of that institution. If he/she ever had any control over who gets a degree and who doesn’t, he/she has lost it. She only needs to bleach her hair to be the poster girl for dumb blonds.

I often wonder why, if she had a degree in economics and international relations, why was she working as a bartender?

Why was she apparently unable to use her degree to get into some sort of professional career path?

And being female and minority, she would have benefited from affirmative action recruitment policies, if she had wanted to pursue some career field based on her education.

I heard someone say she worked as a bartender by night, and was some sort of activist/agitator during the day. As if she had no real interest in any conventional career, but just wanted to be a political anarchist.

Attractive, minority, woman -- lots of places would have hired her for things like sales, corporate communications, etc, if she even moderately came across as stable and intelligent. And yet, she worked as a bartender.

To be a socialist working in corporate America is to be a phony one way or the other, isn't it?

She probably knew that she wasn't a corporate or bureaucratic type, and employers probably knew that as well.

Ocasio reminds me of Emily Litella from SNL with the exception that when corrected, she doubles down on stupid rather than saying “Nevermind”.

She graduated cum laude at Boston U. I ran across that at the school website.

The High Priest of Environmental Causes Al Gore was out promoting his waste of cellulose
In January, 2006 – when promoting his Oscar-winning (yes, Oscar-winning) documentary,
An Inconvenient Truth – Gore declared that unless we took “drastic measures”
to reduce greenhouse gasses, the world would reach a “point of no return” in a mere ten years.
He called it a “true planetary emergency.” Well, the ten years passed today, we’re still here,
and the climate activists have postponed the apocalypse.
Again.

At LEAST she managed to stretch out the timeline a bit with 12 years.

‘Attractive, minority, woman — lots of places would have hired her...’

yes, but she’s brown, and the requirement for an apex new hire is being black; so she’s still left with table scraps...going forward, black females are going to be handed the keys to the kingdom on the shiniest of plates; just watch television programming and commercials and see how much of it is devoted to little black girls and you’ll see what I mean...

‘She graduated cum laude at Boston U.’

I know a person who graduated summa cum laude at one of the largest universities in the land; she is quite probably the least sensible doughbrain I have ever known...
