Agreed - he lost big-time on the SOTU address. If he now caves on a CR with not even a “down payment”, that’s pretty much the ballgame.

Three weeks is BS. If you give the rats an inch, they’ll take a mile. They aren’t all of the sudden going to coalesce after the three weeks of “negotiation” and give him the wall money. If anything, Trump caving will embolden them even more to hold out again next time.
I actually think he won against Nancy. What she did was radical and with no damn good reason. It’s a stain. She abused her power.

The FAA, TSA actually, is a union action to pressure the government. That it is occuring primarily at just a couple of airports is evidence that it is coordinated effort, much like the CNN camera crew just happening to be on hand for an FBI break-in and arrest this morning.
This drives me up a wall. If someone can’t live when they miss a pay cheque, something is wrong. Everyone should have some emergency savings. Plus, I was informed that various banks and lending institutions have offered zero interest loans for furloughed employees. There’s no reason for anything more than a little inconvenience.

The SOTU is fluff, entirely meaningless in every way.

Trump gave as good as a fight as anybody ever did. He has my respect forever. But this is a surrender. Wrap it up, and stick a fork in it. Trump’s term as an effective president is over. They know they can beat him, so they’ll never deal with him.
We’re just too soft to survive if a gov’t worker missing 2 paychecks is too much to stomach.
I’m praying he doesn’t announce scAmnesty in exchange for the wall. He might as well announce his resignation.
Interesting, his cabinet is now arriving at the White House. Bet we will see later reports that he failed to discuss it all with them.
If the Gov’t is open, I don’t see why not.
