A new excerpt from former White House communications staffer Cliff Sims' new memoir emerged in Vanity Fair, and this one focused on a very special member of President Trump's Team of Vipers: Kellyanne Conway. Sims doesn't appear to be a fan:
As I watched Kellyanne in operation over our time in the White House, my view of her sharpened. It became hard to look long at her without getting the sense that she was a cartoon villain brought to life. Her agenda which was her survival over all others, including the president became more and more transparent. [Cliff Sims, via Vanity Fair]
In the White House, "Kellyanne managed to land a job with no fixed responsibilities" and a huge office, where she could "just dabble in areas that piqued her interest," Sims writes. And one of those interests was leaking, a fact he learned firsthand while drafting a response on her MacBook to Morning Joe calling her out for being two-faced about Trump:
Kellyanne was sitting at her desk texting away. And since her iMessage account was tied to both her phone and her laptop, which she must not have even considered, I could inadvertently see every conversation she was having. Over the course of 20 minutes or so, she was having simultaneous conversations with no fewer than a half-dozen reporters, most of them from outlets the White House frequently trashed for publishing "fake news." [Sims, Vanity Fair]
Conway "bashed" Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Reince Priebus by name and also recounted private conversations with Trump, "talking about him like a child she had to set straight," Sims said. "I was sitting there, watching this, totally bewildered. I was supposed to be writing a statement, defending her against accusations that she had done almost exactly what I was watching her do that very moment." Yawn!
I presume she is insincere, but so what if she is?
I'm with you.
I met Kellyanne (then Fitzpatrick)Conway 20 years ago when I was a recently reformed political agnostic. Her comments hit me like a slap in the face. She was no fan of establishment then and I doubt she is now.
A bunch of rubbish from a never Trumper in Vanity Fair may tickle the private parts of HuffPo readers, but it should not be given any credence.
If someone from the Trump campaign writes a book and its excerpts appear in Vanity Fair that person was hardly loyal to the president, and Cliff Sims is that. As for Conway Im suspicious of her because of that husband of hers, and she was originally a NeverTrumper. That said, no leaks have ever been attributed to her, and the president still has her in the administration. I think its just a case of a disgruntled ex staffer who is spouting off about Trump, and the MSM is only too happy to give Mr. Sims a forum to attack him!
Divide and Conquer, sow seeds of doubt and top it with made-up stories. That’s how the Swamp works. Too many here on FR take the bait...
Bingo! Nice troll bait to bring out the FR rat patrol.
Not buying this! She’s been out in front defending Trump and taking arrows by the despicable drive-by media!
Wow, so George Soros and his Media pals get together to concoct this unsubstantiated, unproven story by a nobody, and Freepers have already got the knives out for Kellanne ...
Damn those leftist agitators are good!!
She’s a keeper so the President kept her.I trust Him.
It may be just ‘For The Money’, like Matlin-Carville, Inc.

“a very special member of President Trump’s Team of Vipers”
Yeah, this article has lots of credibility - Hah.
Whose the rat? Im going with Vanity Fair as they are the bigger winner in this story.
Unless they have a photo of KAC smirking, which is now a sin if a Republican does it.
“Im not buying it. She has consistently been Trumps fiercest defender”
We haven’t seen solid evidence like a video of her criticizing Trump. Claims by Trump haters aren’t real credible.
“a very special member of President Trumps Team of Vipers
Yeah, this article has lots of credibility - Hah.
*********
This type of unsubstantiated drivel is customer made for NeverTrumpers! And FR does indeed have NeverTrumpers infecting these threads!
So......she masterminded Trumps winning campaign and now shes a disloyal villain?
Who here has ever commisserated with your co-workers regarding your demanding, task-oriented, big-ego boss who they all work for as well...raise your hand.
I have initiated, been part of, and heard multiple conversations similar to the one below:
ME: Wow. She called me at home at 1:30 in the morning for some minor thing. I don't think she ever sleeps. Well, she knows that if she calls, I will jump. I hate that mindset.
CO-WORKER: Yeah, she is crazy. And she can completely get on your ass for things like that. Christ, she scares the crap out of me, she is so hot and cold that I think she is bi-polar or something...
ME: Yeah. She gets crazy and a little irrational under pressure. You ever see that movie "The Devil Wears Prada"? That is exactly who she reminds me of...
CO-WORKER: Me too! And she can be a real a**hole when she needs it done, too...
ME: Well, she can be a lunatic, no doubt about that. I wish she would take a chill pill sometimes...
You get the idea.
It is better to have a perfect boss, even tempered, considerate, helpful, etc, but that is often not the hand we are dealt. In the end, if your boss is a contributor towards achieving a result, applying the correct pressure, getting the right resources, etc...you take the good with the bad and go from there.
And it is also better to have subordinates who keep their mouths shut to the outside world, and bitch little or not at all to each other. But that is as unlikely as having the perfect boss.
I don't know Kelly Ann Conway. And if true, she shouldn't even be talking to outsiders like that, ESPECIALLY not the press. But if she does her job whatever it is, and Trump does his job and accepts her efforts as helpful, and employment reaches historic lows while GDP rises at 3-4 percent and conservatives are appointed to the courts, well...who cares what they say to each other, and who cares what scumbag wants to exploit that shop talk so they can make some piddly money on a tell-all book?
I fault the person writing the book more than any comment made by Kellyann Conway. Conway's comments, however ill-advised, may or may not reach wide distribution, but this person's comments will, as we see here. If Cliff Sims had an axe to grind with Kellyanne Conway, he should have strapped on a pair and done that. Period.
And he was a communications staffer? Gee, I wonder if he was the one who was in the middle of a love triangle between two female staffers resulting in a loud argument on the campaign plane as described in Cory Lewandowski's excellent book "Let Trump Be Trump"? Hmm...
And for anything to do with Vanity Fair or the pap within the covers, that speaks for itself.
“Agree - attempts by the enemy to sow division.”
Agreed, this is all that it is. Amazing how many on this forum fall right into the trap.
The NSA has the records/copies of her messages, so she wouldn’t be able to hide anything. They have it ALL..yours,mine, theirs. If she’s lying, Trump will find out if he confronts her about it.
There are tons of husband’s and wives with very different political views from each other, and they still have good marriages.
Calling KellyAnn twofaced toward Trump is equal to calling Trump a Russian colluder because a liar was once a lawyer for him.
Books by political staffers sell best when they claim to be full of juicy gossip. The books author wants to make a buck.
