President Trump will only accept a stopgap spending bill to reopen the government if it contains a “down payment” for his long-desired border wall, the White House said Thursday, shortly after the Senate rejected two separate funding bills.
“The president would consider a CR only if it includes a down payment on the wall,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement to The Hill.

I would imagine that, rather than $5.7 billion for the remaining 9 months, he’d take $600 million for a 1-month extension. The democrats could argue they won because 9 months of that would only add up to 5.4 billion.

And all of the people who just, SO BADLY, want to "trust"/"believe" in Trump and/or claim that he "has a plan", are refusing to see reality; not to mention remember that the Dems have been playing this "promise" game, re a WALL, since Reagan.
His supporters aren’t offering 3 years amnesty for Dreamers, or shaving down the wall payment number even further.

Pelosi hasn't budged an inch from the start, it's Trump offering amnesty, coming down on how much funding etc.

So one month out of a $5.7 billion year, would be $475 million. Plus the equivalent percentage of his other requests.

I wish there was some way to communicate to Mr. Trump that his supporters want the wall, and don’t mind the govt being shut down one little bit. Clearly he is caving, first on the SOTU and now the wall. It is my prayer and my hope, if Mr. Trump fails, and he seems to be failing, that our Lord will raise up another who will not fail. But I am grateful for all that Mr. Trump has accomplished. But if he cannot withstand the heat any longer, I hope that he will step aside, for his family’s sake, and for ours.

That is why they don’t want to give him a measly 5.5 billion.
