Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is planning to propose a "wealth tax" on some of the richest Americans, an economist who advises her told CNBC on Thursday.
The new tax from Warren, who recently announced her bid to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020, would only apply to Americans with more than $50 million in assets.
The Washington Post first reported the development.
Warren's proposal comes alongside other Democratic lawmakers' plans to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans to pay for ambitious policy goals, including a "green new deal."

Meanwhile, her wealth, and that of other Democrat leaders will be mysteriously exempt from such a tax.
The democrats are going to be falling over each other to show who can out-do the other coming up with more and more outrageous plans to raise taxes - who proposes the most, wins the democratic nomination - and gets defeated in the GE.
Then they will call me and say they want tax free income, exempt from federal taxes.
This would be bad. VERY bad...and when it backfires, that $50mm will become $5mm, and then $500,000.00 until they just take it.

Perhaps it is time to repeal the 16th Amendment.

I’d say the fake Indian is trying to out-commie the Commie from the Bronx. AOC proposed a 70% tax on income. But income isn’t the juiciest target. Warren knows what Marxism demands — grab the Wealth!!

But ya know...most uber-rich in the business community have ended up being Left-leaning globalists. I’ll be honest, my sympathy for them is dwindling by the day. When I see it hitting Hollywood and the entertainment industry along with Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Gillette executives. It almost brings a smile to my face. As long as the money actually doesn’t get spent on Left-wing projects, I’m starting not to care. It think it would be hilarious to milk the affluent Left and spend it all on increased judicial appointments to handle immigration cases as well as a gigantic prison to house repeat offenders of our immigration laws. Until amendments to the law by a majority socialists house/senate revises the number DOWN to $500,000.00 as "rich".
If you have 100k in a 401k, 50k in cars, 50k in furniture/jewelry/guns, etc, and 300k in house...you are now subject to 90% of it going to the .gov.
