IMHO, their embarrassing Chuck and Nancy “shared podium” response to his speech a while back didn’t work for them they want they thought it would. They are scared of Trump getting unfettered access without controlling the narrative.
Two thousand armed patriots escorting him safely would do the trick.

Nancy Pelosi is working to ensure that this will be the most watched SOTU speech in history.

The point is that Nancy doesn’t want Trump to have the stage because Trump is fantastic under the lights. No Trump needs to give a televised address to the country.
I just called Pelosi’s Washington office and left the following message: “I’m not a constituent of Mrs. Pelosi’s but am an American taxpayer, and I’d like to remind her that the Capitol Building, both Houses of Congress, and everything in it, including her sorry ass, all belong to the American people...that she doesn’t own the building, and is only there on a temporary basis.”
True, but I would be just as happy to see an empty chair there, offered but not taken.
I would also like to see the SOTU held on time, but at a different location like the Capitol Rotunda, and the networks can contrast the crowd at the SOTU with Nancy sitting (or not present) in an EMPTY HOR.
It’s an opportunity. Do the State of the Union in front of 20,000-40,000 fans of President Trump in a secured arena.
Make Pelosi and Schumer eat this as the obstructionists that they are.

However, White House officials have been working on a backup plan to have him give the speech somewhere else if Democrats don’t let him do it in the traditional forum, the House chamber, on Tuesday.
I’d like the long version: “The union is fine and the DNC is a bunch of far Left wing douchebags. Thank you.”
I think he is conning her into a face off and she’s going to lose.

Nasty Nazi Nan can reopen the government right now. Just give the President of the United States the money to build the wall. It’s not rocket science and it is easy to understand even if you are doing “medical” marijuana for “recreational” purposes.
