Freshman New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) in an interview late Monday said she gives "zero" f---s about criticism she’s received from members of her own party.
“Now, congresswoman, for you and other freshmen members of Congress, you're getting a fair amount of pushback from even members of your own party saying ‘wait your turn, go slow, don't ask for so much so fast right now, you're new, wait your turn for everything and don't make waves,'" late-night host Stephen Colbert said to the rising progressive star on CBS's "The Late Show."
“I want to ask this question in a respectful manner, knowing also that you're from Queens, so you will understand this question,” he continued.
“And the BX,” Ocasio-Cortez, who is also from the Bronx, laughingly injected.
“On a scale from zero to some, how many f---s do you give?”
After taking a moment to deliberate, Ocasio-Cortez reached into her side and pulled out her hand to make a circle, saying: “I think it’s zero.”
“That’s my thought!” Colbert exclaimed.
When pressed further about her response to lawmakers who say her actions show a “divided front” for the Democratic Party, Ocasio-Cortez responded: “It’s how we choose to interpret items and how we choose to interpret events and things like activism and advocacy.”
“If you think activism is inherently divisive — I mean, today is Martin Luther King Day,” she continued. “People called Martin Luther King divisive in his time. We forget he was wildly unpopular when advocating for the Civil Rights Act. I think that what we really need to realize is that social movements are the moral compass and should be the moral compass for our politics.”

Seems to be the case all right. And not one single female in the spotlight considers it filth..shows you what kind of people they are. Not that we needed any reminders. I’ve lived to make it to my ‘80’s and never before have I seen it this bad and before now, it was always confined to “males” usually with the caveat, “Well, it comes from being in the military.”
My husband and I went to see “American Sniper” some years back and coming out of the theater, I said I had never seen a script so full of obscenities and profanities as uttered by the female lead in that movie. My husband (former military) said he had to agree. I have had many disagreements with others over that movie but I won’t change my mind about it. Some say, “What about GI Jane?” So I ask if that was a true story?
Others said, “well, his wife really didn’t talk that way. Hollywood just had license to cast her character that way.” Sure - and she had nothing to say about how she was portrayed? If I recall, it began in the first 5 minutes of the movie. When it comes on TV and my husband turns it on, I leave the room.
Think about it and also read “The Paradigm” - making everything that used to be “moral” - “immoral”...all part of the plan to destroy our society.
She is as eloquent as joe pesci.

First time I ever heard the word on network TV was during a singing performance by Gilda Radner on SNL in the early seventies. Never heard such after that.
Culturally, something happened to the US in the seventies. I immigrated to Canada at a time when men just did not curse around women. When coming back to the States eight years later, I was shocked to hear young women cursing in public without a hint of self-consciousness. Maybe it was the gas shortages...

Plus, she is media-starving young Democrats who want enough recognition to be presidential material, or even just to get on the empty bench. She is nothing but good for us.

Exactly. They love this stuff, more of their idea of “speaking truth to power”, because they, like her, wouldn’t know a cogent or profound thought if it bit them in the azz. We live in soundbite, slogan world now, and no wit required-she fits the bill, being loud, obnoxious, and witless.
If God gave Trump a vision, the devil gave Ocasio-Cortez a vision. The Dem party will grumble and fumble but it will go along because it has no rival power.
The spiritual nature of what’s going on in modern America is going to become very, very plain.
She is definitely in the danger zone.
