I will be the resident naysayer on the topic and say vaping should be completely banned. Glad it is not allowed indoors anywhere.
Viping?
It’s a great tool for smokers to stop quitting because the Nicotine is addictive and they’re still getting that sensation.
However, vaping is being taken up primarily by very young kids - 9, 10, 11 year olds have all been caught vaping in schools locally. I don’t know if it’s a gateway incident but they don’t realize that it contains an addictive chemical. One that can be harmful at an early age.
So I do applaud the media awareness campaign - I’m hearing very different Juul ads on the radio than I have in the past.
Tax it.
They want vaping gone? Tax it. They want to eliminate vaping? Tax it.
Just like cigarettes and tobacco. Tax it.
If you want LESS of something.... Tax it.
My friend’s 25 year-old son was a heavy smoker. He got married, and when his first kid was born, decided he needed to quit. So he started vaping. Slowly dialed down the nicotine to the most minute levels. He now vapes only when drinking/socializing.
Vaping was a life-saver for him.
I don’t smoke but i’m pretty disgusted at govt crackdown on vaping.
Cigs have so many chemicals that are really horrible for you. I’d trade that any day for just one of those chemicals, nicotine.
What is the downside? The govt getting less tax money.
I thought Trump Supporters are forbidden from buying Vape Products.
I remember seeing a Video not long ago of a Vape Store Employee refusing to sell any Vape Products to a guy wearing a Trump Shirt.
The arguments against vaping are specious, at best. I smoked for 45 years- and I am a retired Respiratory therapist. When I first started in the field we ALL smoked. Vaping helped me quit. It got my husband to quit. The main ingredients in the oil are vegetable glycerin (inert in the body) and propylene glycol, which is a (really!) old school respiratory medication for breaking up mucus. Betcha didn’t know that. Kids are vaping? would you rather they smoked cigs?
The health benefits in the REASON for vaping are enormous, no matter what the whiney little snowflakes claim. I’m betting the goofball clutching her pearls and complaining about your vaping is the SAME idiot with 20 cats. Kiss off!
I don’t know .. driving around sometimes and at stop signs or lights, it’s not unusual to see a billowing cloud of smoke coming out of an open window of a nearby car.. I guess it beats 8000 watts of a rap tune to stir one’s brain.
Long term effects? Life is terminal. Let folks pretend they are fine as long as they can.. even though we can plainly see they are blowing smoke uhh vapour..

People who vape aren’t throwing butts everywhere, or filling ashtrays, they don’t smell like a pack of cigarettes and it’s (supposedly) a free country damn it. Something much cleaner than smoking comes along and instead of seeing the positive side, the control freaks are miserable as usual. I hate control freaks. Always have their noses in everyone else’s business.
Itvis not the government trying to kill vaping it is the do gooder progressives who don’t want anyone to have any fun. They use the power of government to achieve their goals. It really is no different than the temperance movement a century ago that got alcohol and all other drugs illegalized and their heirs who continue to maintain the prohibitions. They made the laws that gave the government the power to police our behavior in public and in private so they can jail anyone who dares to deviate.
Vaping and Juuls are not good. I see kids sucking the damn things coming out of school,down the road and huddled in corners like pot smokers and ANYTHING can be put inside them like cannabis. My libertarian side says who cares and government should go FOAD but a good portion of our society abuses and is addicted to anything and becomes the new “crisis”. The intended effect/lie of the nanny state and taxes was partly to keep cigarettes from kids but these things are opening up to a new generation of kids much YOUNGER.
I am not a smoker but I got five three-pack-a-day-or-more smokers to migrate to being non-smokers at all by getting to take up vaping instead.
I did this by buying them refillable, tank style e-cigarettes and showing them how they could ween themselves off nicotine by dropping the nicotine content of the vaping solutions until they were down to zero.
The longest one of these friends took to to stop even vaping, except for occasional social occasions with zero percent vapor, was six months. It works.
Each of them was amazed at how easy it was to stop.

And some prick will bitch about secondhand steam.
Just 2 problems, nicotine constricts blood vessels and promotes tumor growth. But hey vaping doesn’t smell, so go for it.

I quit a couple years back, gave my last pack and a half of menthol 100’s to a neighbor. Glad I did!
The government doesn’t want to kill vaping, they want to tax it like tobacco. Something has to replace all the lost tobacco revenues, looks like it will be weed and vaping
