In recent days, many online essays have rightly ripped apart Gillette's ugly new "We Believe" advertisement. One online critic dubbed it "feel-bad liberalism."
Carpentered by Grey Advertising for Proctor and Gamble's razors company, it does not detail product attributes, encourage brand loyalty, instill warm feelings in buyers, or even show basic respect for consumers. Instead, the grimly lecturing spot declares masculinity itself toxic, a peril to decent society.
"Is this the best a man can get? Is it?" asks the painfully serious narrator, as a wrongdoing slideshow passes by. "We can't hide from it. It's been going on far too long. We can't laugh it off, making the same old excuses."
"I guess the guy at the ad agency missed the lesson about not taking a dump on the people you want to buy your stuff," cracked comedian Steven Crowder.
"The guy at the ad agency" is actually philosophically unpleasant feminist Kim Gehrig. Hiring her to court the male market is like expecting to accrue impressive rainbow flag sale numbers with spiels from Farrakhan.
Jezebel reported an email message Gehrig sent CNBC: "At the end of the day, sparking conversation is what matters. This gets people to pay attention to the topic and encourages them to consider taking action to make a difference."
She'd previously made the bizarre "Viva La Vulva" spot for Swedish feminine hygiene company Libresse. In that surreal ad, objects that included a conch shell, sliced orange, papaya, and coin purse stood in as ersatz female intimate parts. For the ad's nearly three-minute duration, these items were manipulated as unnatural "singers" of Camille Yarbrough's "Take Yo Praise."
Gehrig's new Gillette effort states her bias boldly by intercutting allusions to abusive acts with images of romantic heterosexuality.

Its not that they can’t be replaced, but my bet is in most homes those other items are more often than not purchased by the female in the home.
Gillette should have learned a lesson from J C Penny.....
BTW- J C Penny stock value went BELOW $1 a share recently.
While we were watching TV the other night, my wife made a comment about "another one of those TV commercials making men look stupid". Take notes for an evening's presentation of TV ads. Note the race & gender of the "enlightened" product users and also of the "dunces".
The Leftist took over the Education system, the Law Schools, the Courts, the News Media, Entertainment industry and Advertising. The result? Snowflakes, Berniebots and Antifa, plus Pelosi, Schumer, Maxine, etc.
I love my country, but these days, most Americans are either too ignorant, stupid or selfish to "uphold & defend the Constitution" on Election Day, let alone willing to stand against our enemies, foreign & domestic in a real fight.
The Ad had to be screened for Company Executives before it ever saw daylight.
Those same people allowed a Subordinate to hire the Feminist Nutcase.
The blame lies at their feet.
It’s like finding an Edsel with a Trunk full of New Coke.
So JC Penney’s really is a Penny Stock.
Just remember the new rule during the Communist Revolution in America. Everything is political.
The same forces that are set on eradicating manliness from our society have already successfully abolished femininity. Trump’s unabashed masculinity is no doubt part of the reason he is so vehemently despised (and feared) by the left.
Have heard that it is mostly targeted against white heterosexuals.
However, I have not seen or heard of any mention of black rap artists who talk about their bitches and ho's.
Nor have I seen or heard of anything regarding what I was taught by my Father with regard to opening doors, tipping my hat, never wearing a hat at a dinner table or indoors and walking on the street side (traffic side) of the sidewalk when in the presence of a lady.
They went from 70% to 50% share due to the excellent efforts of dollar shave club (unilever) and Harry’s.
Then they started suing their competitors - no clearer a sign you are losing than that.
Now this. The transmission is going to fall out of the car after this gaffe.
It will go down as HOW NOT to hold your market position, in the same way Tylenol’s action after their products were poisoned have gone down as the HOW TO for brand emergency response and preservation.
Does Bruce Jenner use Gillette?
"There's something about an AQUA VULVA man..."
Bruce Jenner's cat.
Unfortunately, it's getting more difficult to find a company that just sells a great product without trying to inject themselves into social issues.
Even Dollar Shave Club isn't immune from this.
A few examples:
What Do I Tell My Kids About That Racist Relative?
When Should I Let My Kids Wear Makeup, Get Piercings, and the Rest?
Now, what in the world does this have to do with getting a great shave product and a reasonable price? Answer, absolutely nothing. Nothing at all.
Why is it that we are being lectured about TOXIC MASCULINITY but there is not a peep about the TOXIC GYNOCRACY in our schools that is in the process of turning boys into girls?
The real TOXICITY in our nation is the TOXICITY of the so-called women’s movement which long ago eschewed equal opportunity for special treatment for women and girls with men and boys paying the price.
Death to the Gynocracy.
