~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas Laughlin Air Force Base is a facility of the United States Air Force located in Del Rio, Texas. Laughlin AFB, the largest pilot training base in the US Air Force, is home to the 47th Flying Training Wing of the Air Education and Training Command. The 47th Operations Group is responsible for training U.S. Air Force and allied nation pilots under the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Program. The 47th OG provides management, control, standardization and evaluation of all aspects of flying training operations and airfield management at Laughlin.
The group consists of four flying training squadrons, an operations support squadron and a student squadron. Learn More About Laughlin Air Force Base HERE! A Song in the Night
If we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25 Today's Scripture & Insight:
My fathers life was one of longing. He longed for wholeness, even as Parkinsons disease gradually crippled more and more of his mind and body. He longed for peace, but was tormented by the deep pain of depression. He longed to feel loved and cherished, but often felt utterly alone.
He found himself less alone when he read the words of Psalm 42, his favorite psalm. Like him, the psalmist knew a desperate longing, an unquenched thirst for healing (vv. 12). Like him, the psalmist knew a sadness that felt like it never went away (v. 3), leaving times of pure joy merely a distant memory (v. 6). Like my dad, as consuming waves of chaos and pain swept over him (v. 7), the psalmist felt abandoned by God and asked, Why? (v. 9).
And as the words of the psalm washed over him, assuring him he was not alone, my father felt the beginnings of a quiet peace enter in alongside his pain. He heard a tender voice surrounding him, a voice assuring him that even though he had no answers, even though the waves still crashed over him, still he was dearly loved (v. 8).
And somehow hearing that quiet song of love in the night was enough. Enough for my dad to quietly cling to glimmers of hope, love, and joy. And enough for him to wait patiently for the day when all his longings would finally be satisfied (vv. 5, 11).

Today's Reflection
Lord, we know that You have carried all our suffering and will one day turn it around into resurrection life. Still, there is so much healing that we wait and long for. As we wait for that morning, help us to rest in Your song of love in the night.

Hmmmmm, and what did you do Sat. night that left yesterday a blur? LOL
At least you had sunshine. It’s been cold, cloudy, and damp here the past few days. They SAY we’ll warm up a little tomorrow and MIGHT see the sun at some point in the day but we’ll see how that goes.

Howdy, radu! Hope you had a good day today and that the weather there wasn’t too cold for you!
It was a bit warmer here today, and will get even warmer before we get slammed by the next cold front on Saturday.

Howdy, LUV.
Another cold dreary day here. Never got out of the 30s. BRRRR
They SAY we’ll have a little warm-up tomorrow and will have 50s Wed. through Fri., then down the mercury goes again. We aren’t supposed to get above freezing Sunday. OUCH!!
A heck of a roller coaster ride this week.
At least we didn’t have snow like they had at DH early this evening!

Good evening, radu...hope your area is drying out a little before the next “change”.
No more shaking that I’ve felt today. I’m good with that. d:o)
But not a good work day....or I should say so many things started, so many things unfinished. Everyone wanted to be first in line.
