Dishonesty and corruption are endemic at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The latest proof comes in a New York Times report that the FBI initiated an investigation in May of 2017 into whether President Donald Trump was serving as a covert Russian agent. The accusation itself was ludicrous on its face. But from a legal standpoint, the FBI's probe constituted an egregious abuse of power. The Bureau had no probable cause, no evidence, and no reasonable suspicions. They investigated Trump because they could. They defied the law, ignored or perverted facts, and debased the integrity of a heretofore-respected law enforcement agency.
Why did these rogue officials commit such an outrageous act of malfeasance? In a word, vengeance. Already incensed that Trump had defeated their preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, they grew furious when the president fired Director James Comey on May 9, 2017. In reaction, they sought retribution. What better way to avenge Comey's firing than to launch a counterintelligence investigation of Trump under the false pretense that he committed treasonous acts for the benefit of the Kremlin and at the direction of President Vladimir Putin. Absent credible proof, information could be manipulated to frame Trump while a compliant media would gobble up the leaks and report the damaging charge. The election results could then be undone when the president was driven from office.

Also not one whistle blower in the DoJ. Not one. The person that would leak all of those incriminating text messages will end up in Ft. Marcey Park.
If only 2 or 3 of the so-called “99 percent of the rank and file” would have stepped forward and claimed that there was a problem...I mean STEPPED FORWARD...going on TV, writing in to newspapers, talking to groups...I would have felt there was some hope for them.

I hear a lot that the honest agents at the FBI are disgusted by all this, yet none of them seem to be coming forward...
Too bad since it would really help with their image. Guess they only recruited Democrats the past 25 years at the bureau.
Anyone that stepped forward would be whacked and his family put in danger. I think it is fear more than the cravenness. But I could be wrong.

OMG, what kind of good FBI agents don’t have the male equipment to face danger. If not them, then WHO? Or even female equipment.

In the 1980's, a reorganization back to a format that Centralized Authority began. Fostered by "Congress", IMHO a precursor of a set up for Obama. The same format was found corrupt in the 1950s and gave rise to Internal Security, split from the then Intelligence Division, now called CID.
One, only the Commissioner, was an appointed position. That was bastardized by taking "EXECUTIVES" from other agencies. "If you can manage a program, you can manger anywhere." BS None had the knowledge or ethics of the original executives they replaced. The originals knew the agency, rules, laws etc. Many were political appointments into their home agency and transferred to IRS, e.g. L. LERNER.
When they abolished Internal Security (IS), it was after a Congressional "Dog and Pony" show complete with false allegations as to IS ability. The predetermined goal was obvious. IS was absorbed into TIGTA. (TIGTA: Treasury Inspector General, Tax Admin.)
Districts were consolidated/abolished and the number of directors decreased. This facilitated the creation and centralization of power in fewer hands.(Socialists need centralized power. The power (read corruption) was in DC, but L.Lerner and others were not physically in the National Office. IRS needs to be returned to a MANDATORY (by law) STRUCTURE as it was after 1951 and those who broke the law prosecuted.
It seems to me that the Congressional "Investigations" have done nothing to cause a prosecution but to allow the statutes to expire on the crimes of those involved. If a fish stinks, it stinks at the head as well as any where else.
Hoover took over a corrupt FBI, that was corrupt from the beginning. Hoover 'libraried" everything, then turned that against Congress (black mail, if you will)

Whitey Bulger - convicted after the FBI was replaced by a special Task Force. While their informant, killed 2 and put 4 in prison (Mueller was Dir FIB then) based on a frame by Bulger to eliminate competition.

Then we can go on and on. Trump Frame up, false FISA warrant, Hillary non prosecution; Sedition; and so on. As far as I know there were only 2 FIB Directors of any note before the current one.
