The extraordinary story published Friday night in The New York Times headlined F.B.I. Opened Inquiry into Whether Trump was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia tells us how deeply sick the Washington establishment has become.
A group of bureaucrats elected by no one sat in a room and decided they would investigate the new president of the United States for possible treason. Let me repeat: treason. This is, after all, the implication of this investigation.
This group of bureaucrats reports to no one in elected authority. In a Justice Department where employees gave 97 percent of their presidential campaign contributions to Hillary Clinton, the hostility toward and fear of newly elected President Trump was deep.
The senior members of the Justice Department (all promoted under the Obama administration) were clearly prepared to go all-out to repudiate the verdict of the American people in the 2016 election.
Further, these were Justice Department bureaucrats who had ignored the Clinton Foundation scandals, minimized the investigation into the Clinton email and Internet scandal, and ignored former President Clinton collecting money from Russians overseas while his wife was secretary of state.
Suddenly, these hitherto passive, dispassionate, and tolerant law enforcement bureaucrats were galvanized into investigating a president for possible treason.
When they made this decision, who did they share it with? Obviously, they could not go to President Trump, since he was the target of their investigation.

Yes, and the FBI/CIA were acting just like the Gestapo, Cheka, Stasi, KGB, Okhrana and other sinister governmental agencies who abuse their power, target the innocent for political purposes, and let their favorites wallow in the worst of corruption - We saw it in Germany (helping Goering steal Jewish-owned property); Russia (target the kulaks or small farmers, hang them and steal their grain and land); and apparently, here (letting the Clintons get away with stealing 20 percent of the country’s uranium, among other major crimes).
The appointment of Barr either signals ‘a deal’ has been struck or Trump has finally found an area in which he can be played.
Bovine Scat!
ImVho, ALL of the FBI “leadership” MUST be investigated for CORRUPTION & FIRED if found to have been involved in corrupt acts.
In point of fact, the FBI could be abolished & the GOOD agents then be “folded into” the USMS or the Treasury Department.
(We need over 80 federal police agencies, with MANY overlapping/duplicative “duties”, like we all need an aggressive case of cancer.)
It makes NO difference which badge/credential that a peace officer carries.

Why are you surprised? 97% of campaign contributions from DOJ personnel went to Hillary.
Sorry Newt. I trust law inforcement professionals to make investigative decisions ten times more than I do politicians, like you.
Honestly, what these people did was as damaging to our nation as pretty much anything that traitors who have spied on us have done. In the majority of instances, probably much worse.
And nothing will be done about it.
Then it’s up to us isn’t it? If at last WE the People don’t do any thing then our Law is gone...
Completely agree.
We may find that out Real Soon Now!
There was a guy who tried that once. It didn’t end very well ft or him.
“How long can the Republic survive deep state coups?”
The fakestream media and idiot obola voters put a guy named Barack Hussein Osama in the oval office for 8 long years. Not long after 9/11. A marxist muslim America hating faggot illegal alien...An enemy combatant as commander in chief.
The wholesale corruption and lawlessness of our fed govt stems from that usurpation.

“97% of campaign contributions from DOJ personnel went to Hillary.”
So, 97% of our Department of “JUSTICE” donated money to a criminal that they protected from prosecution.
It’s time to privatize all government agencies. Oversight can be from appropriate government officials, put into place on a temporary basis by those appropriately elected to office, but there should be no ‘permanent’ government employees working for government agencies. These agencies have become independent of the checks and balances of our Republic, and are now populated by people who have no problem subverting the will of the people.
I know people will say, “What about the FBI or CIA? How do you privatize agencies like that?” My answer, the same way that we use contractors for security etc. overseas. It was the private contractors and military people who saved the CIA staff in Benghazi, and I trust their account of events much more than I would some government bureaucrat.
Not a perfect idea, but we have to do something. It’s out of control.
“but there should be no permanent government employees working for government agencies. These agencies have become independent of the checks and balances of our Republic, and are now populated by people who have no problem subverting the will of the people.”
Yup...Our 4 trillion dollar corrupt stasi state is not backing off an inch with their quest to get rid of Trump. And it doesn’t look like they’re bothered too much with the people knowing what they’re up to[That should scare everyone]
“That should scare everyone”
Yes, it should!
because trump has been president for two years.
The guilty need to have their US citizenship revoked for life, with no possibility of reinstatement.
Minions of the Democratic Party Crime Syndicate are protect by Chucky and Nan.
Sorry Newt. I trust law inforcement professionals to make investigative decisions ten times more than I do politicians, like you.
Sorry, politicians answer to the people, while a law enforcement agency accountable to nobody doesn't.
If you don't understand the ramifications of that, then in my opinion you're on the wrong forum.
