Julián Castro, the former housing secretary and former mayor of San Antonio, announced on Saturday that he would run for president, one of the most high-profile Latino Democrats ever to seek the party’s nomination.
His first campaign stop will be in Puerto Rico, where he will speak on Monday at the Latino Victory Fund’s annual summit and meet with residents still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria. Later in the week, his campaign said, he will go to New Hampshire.
Mr. Castro, in prepared remarks that he was set to deliver in San Antonio on Saturday, said, “When my grandmother got here almost a hundred years ago, I’m sure she never could have imagined that just two generations later, one of her grandsons would be serving as a member of the United States Congress and the other would be standing with you here today to say these words: I am a candidate for president of the United States of America.”

I don't know her politics, but she is a rock star in business (from my gnomes that have met her, and follow her) and G-d forbid the DNC courts her to run, because PDJT might not be re-elected. Who am I talking about? GM CEO Mary Barra.....

The bigger names are going to cancel each other out and Dems are going to wind up with an anti-establishment radical as their nominee. Who it is waits to be seen but it really could be just about anyone.
When C and D-listers like Castro start throwing their hat into the ring, it's going to snowball with everyone thinking they have a shot.

Think how easily it would be for anyone with names like Trujillo, Peron, Batista, Duvalier, Somoza, Diaz, Pinochet or Noriega (dictators all) to win the Demonrat nomination for Prez or Veep..
