Today, on my favorite blog freerepublic.com, I happened upon one of the most innovative Wall funding ideas ever---the Wall as ad space.
The U.S.-Mexican border is 1,954 miles long. This translates into 9,261,120 feet. Which translates into 185,222 50-feet sections. At $100,000 a year per 50-feet section, our country would net over $18.5 billion dollars annually, more than enough to pay for the Wall.
Nearly every sports venue in our country, and elsewhere, earns income by selling wall space. The money could be split between the federal and state governments and used to defray the costs of supporting illegal immigrants.
Either way, it's a win-win situation for the American taxpayer. Additionally, the Mexican government would be encouraged to sell wall space on their side of the border. It's the Gift that Keeps on Giving---a potential cash cow.
I would welcome the blogger who posted this idea stand and be heard.
Anyone who refers to Freerepublic as a “blog” has lost credibility.
Most wall space would go unseen. Lots of desert with no reason for typical Americans to be there.
Who exactly would see the ads?
Dumb idea, even if he did see it on FR.
I could just see the Mx side … ads for immigration lawyers, Coyotes, seeking drug mules …
If he did see it on FR, I gotta think it was a tongue in cheek comment.
We do have a few dim bulbs wandering around here, but not nightlight dim LOL
This post is entirely “tongue-in-cheek.” As in satire.

Oh, I bet companies like Werner and Ozarka would be the first in line to buy ad space on the Mexican side.
...... These Billboard type ads would be limited to bordertown cities like San Diego, Nogales, El Paso, Brownsville et-al .... But it could definitely be a source of revenue ....
Mackenzie Bezos could build the wall and sell ads on it to Amazon’s competitors.
