BLMs announcement comes after Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the lawmakers behind legislation to open ANWR, broke with President Donald Trump and GOP leadership and called for an end to the government shutdown.
Murkowski said Tuesday that federal agencies can be reopened that dont have anything to do with border security. Murkowskis remarks came ahead of Trumps televised address calling for Congress to fund a U.S.-Mexico border wall.

This woman is not a Republican or conservative. She is nothing more than another Collins, someone you can never depend on.
It seems there are some Freepers that just can’t resist degrading and demeaning women whenever the opportunity presents itself. For the record, there are plenty of weak cowardly men and plenty of iron-willed women. Cowardice and weakness are HUMAN traits, just as moral strength, determination, and courage are.
Wow, why doesn’t the beeyatch just cross over and announce she is a Dem now. Her message is the same exact as Schmucky’s!
Murkowski is a Democrat. I don’t care what jersey she wears.
Maybe a repentant Joe Manchin can cancel this quislings vote on a few things.
She's in too solid with the Native Alaskan vote.
Trump is just brilliant. He is going to show us The Art of the Deal, yet again. All these slobbering politicians coming right out in public saying what is important to them gives POTUS numerous opportunities to juxtapose the really important issue for which he is fighting, against less important issues that only have regional appeal.
Special interests vs. the National interest.
It is a great time to be alive and see an Alpha Male stick his finger in the eye/s of the Deep State Establishment.
Mess with the bull, get the horns.
Demographics, ignorance, Murk's name recognition (Political family - her dad was Governor and Senator)...
Then again, things that are important in the lower forty eight are not so much up here. Conversely, things that are very important to Alaskans are meaningless to most folks down south.
This is not a defense, just an answer to your question. On the plus side, we do have Sullivan, and our new Governor, Donleavy, is promising.
Color me surprised. /s
LOTS of federal employees vote in Alaska. Where I live, between the USCG, the Park and Forestry Services etc, there are enough votes to control local elections. Voter turnout in this borough runs to several hundred (Out of about 3K total pop). Federal workers could easily make up half of those.
So John McCain was female? Ben Sasse, Jeff Flake And Mitt Romney are females? Who knew?
Glad to see the FR misogynist brigade at it again.
I vote for an ice floe.
She was a lost cause from the start. The problem the Democrats have is finding another 19 Republicans willing to vote against Trump, and thereby give up any re-election hopes. Not going to happen. Sorry Dems.
Put the blame on Sarah where it belongs.
“.... lower forty eight....” Surely you mean lower ‘56’.
They did and she ran as an independent write in and won. BTW, McConnell also gave her money.
