A new Florida law is scheduled to take effect on Tuesday that will reportedly allow those who have been convicted of felonies to register to vote.
The Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that the new measure, which 64 percent of residents voted to approve last year, will automatically restore voting rights to Floridians with past felony convictions.
According to the local newspaper, offenders who were not convicted of murder or sexual offenses that have also completed all terms of their sentence including parole or probation will have their voting rights automatically restored on Tuesday.

We would sue to mitigate the diminution of the value of our vote.
But we live in California, where moral criminals reign self-righteously.
Game, set, match in Florida.
It will be interesting to see the results.
I’m betting the real numbers will be very small.................
“Automatically” restored, meaning Democrats have some wacky way to inject registered voters into the system.
Maybe, maybe not. But if you debt to society has been fully paid, then you should have all of your Constitutional Rights restored, including your Second Amendment Rights.
Either you're a member of society, or your not.
In most states, felons who have served their obligation to the state can register to vote.
Florida has lurched decidedly to the left since I moved out in 2006.
I think the same thing but I don’t have a problem with x felons voting if they done their time, most likely most will return to jail before they have time to vote anyhow.
IF you did your time. The problem is...for a whole bunch of reasons, these asshats get out early....so they have not infact paid their debt IN FULL.
Can you get out of your mortgage for good behavior? Your car payment?
People are stupid
That’s my thought as well.
Most will be repeat offenders, in and out of prison their whole lives.
Those that really do change their lives and are productive members of society will probably vote, but those will be in very small numbers.
I would think a lot of them don’t even live in Florida any more...............
What about restoring gun rights for nonviolent felons?
Nobody does any checking anyways. I can’t tell you the number of times as an election judge I complained about the number of dead they allowed on the rolls. And I knew these people had passed. On one note I said, “What do you expect me to do provide you with death certificates?”
They need to complete any parole or probation before they can vote.
I know 2 felons. One got her rights back and voted for trump. The other is planning to register repub in the next month. May be anomalies. Maybe not.
Lose Florida, lose any chance of the office of President for a Republican. Texas is not far behind. The leftist plan is right on schedule.
Soros will spend the money to identify & harvest their votes. Game over.
Not sure how many felons would end up voting or that they would all vote democRAT.
The democRATS are now counting on the illegals pouring across the border to "harvest" votes from.
Republicans, in the meantime, count on live, law-abiding, legal Americans to vote.
The 14th Amendment left that decision up to the states. Had it not clearly stated so, some damn judge long ago would have overturned every state law that restricted the ex-con vote.
Since society through a jury trial decided to remove criminals from society and lock them up in a cage, I have no problem at all with denying them the political right to vote. They proved themselves incapable of consistent civil behavior.
Florida has lurched decidedly to the left since I moved out in 2006.
