Amazon has pulled more than a dozen products off its website after receiving complaints that the items are offensive to Muslims.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, asked the online retailer last week to remove the products, which included doormats, bath mats and other items imprinted with Islamic calligraphy, references to the Prophet Muhammad and scripture.
The products, which were being sold by independent merchants on Amazon's website, are deemed offensive because they "would be stepped-on or otherwise disrespected by customers," CAIR said in a statement on Thursday. The following day, CAIR issued another statement welcoming Amazon's decision to remove the items from its website and conduct an audit to purge similarly offensive products. "We thank Amazon for its swift action on this issue and hope it sends a message to manufacturers of such inappropriate and offensive items that they will not profit from Islamophobia or any other form of bigotry," Masih Fouladi, executive director of CAIR's Washington state chapter, said in the statement. Amazon is based in Seattle, Washington.

Don’t know if there is any but since Amazon says they’re removing stuff offensive to muzzies they might have stuff offensive to Christians and Jews they won’t pull.
Yep.
Fools..If you don’t like it then move back where you came from..This is our country not yours to change..All the stuff you pitiful people are trying to do to our country has to stop..I for one would not waste a dime on anything with Muslim written on it..
When are we going back to being free instead of being ruled by offense?
It’s hard to not be offended in life, that is called being an adult.
It was pretty clever. quran on a doormat. lol
Personally, I wish Amazon had a larger selection of items that are “offensive to Muslims.”
No more cross jewelry? Cross pendants are perennial favorites and have become popular with teenage girls.
Cross bracelets seem to be a thing now.
Wait till amazon experiences muslim gratitude.
Darn! I was just getting ready to launch my new line of toilet paper.
Your sarc tag is missing.
Etsy has become a good alternative to amazon or eBay for many types of items.
I am not yet familiar with everything they carry, but Ive been able to find a few ways to spend money over there. Thus far, it seems Im buying from individuals or small businesses sellers.
Really? That’s all it takes for free speech items to be removed?
What if Amazon itself is considered offensive? Will it shutter the doors and close shop?
good to know. A lot of sellers on ebay are small businesses though. ebay gets a piece of them but you can also go direct to their websites and paypal with them often for less money. I found a great tractor parts supplier that way.
Looks like all they banned were bathmats with “Arabic scriptures” ie quotes from the koran. Something only the people of peace would buy in the first place - no loss to the rest of us.
Sorry but then soon we’d soon have nothing. Imagine if they removed everything someone objected too. Anything with sugar gone, anything with plastic gone, anything from animal parts gone , anything from petroleum gone, etc.
I don’t think that your stance is a rational point of view. Please, think. Their religious symbols are being used for decoration or mockery. I distinctly remember a lot of fuss over the “Jesus in Piss” work of art up for auction. It is just civil to have some respect for those sort of things. It must go both ways.
The Disproof of Christianity (The Anti-Christian Series Book 7) Kindle Edition
This incendiary book constitutes a formal theological disproof of the central tenets of Christianity - the Trinity and the Incarnation. Christianity is a staggeringly false religion. It’s so wrong it’s almost comical. The reason why most Christians continue to believe is that a) they have been relentlessly brainwashed by their parents, schools, communities and governments, and b) they don’t actually know anything about Christianity.

Same thing happens to the cross
Yes, it does. There are pigs on both sides of the conflict. I strive not to be one of those. Wouldn’t that be what Christ would do?
