She should have retired under Obama. She had plenty of opportunity to do so. But she wanted to hold out for Hillary. She wanted the first female president to replace her. Now she’s stuck trying to survive past Trump’s presidency.

But it wouldnt surprise me if she does last. I’ve seen terminally ill people, who have a strong desire to live for something, last far longer than anyone predicted.

Not the 1st time she has missed oral arguments. She WAS present but asleep a lot of the time, thereby earning her the name “ Buzzy.” because of her soft snoring on the bench.

She has therefore missed many. Not the 1st time.

I think you are right. I thought he would nominate a woman last time. But he nominated Judge Kavanaugh, suffered the slings and arrows, and got him through. But now we are playing for all the chips and our President has save his best card for last. He is clearly a far better strategist than I am.

You can bet the opposition is scared sh!tless. They have their tiger teams working around the clock compiling dossiers on each and every possible candidate that they can think of. Press releases with insert name here are being drafted even as we speak. It will be the Mother of All Supreme Court fights, and I can't wait to watch President Trump crush his enemies, drive them before him, and especially hear the lamentations of their women, men, gender binary, and the whole rest of the freak show. :-)

Chief Justice John Roberts said in the courtroom Monday that Ginsburg would participate in deciding the argued cases “on the basis of the briefs and transcripts of oral arguments.”

Rules don't apply to 'rats.

Let me state for the record that I wish no one, not even RBG ill will or ill health.

If she does pass, you think this government shutdown intensity is large? Wait until you see the hell that is unleashed by a possible Trump Supreme Court nominee pick. I predict that the house might go into immediate impeachment proceedings. The Supreme Court nominee will have to be one tough SOB with a thick skin...

"he’ll have to choose a virgin female/male who lived his/her entire life in a cloistered convent/monastery."

Don't count on it. The Dems will find one former nun who will claim to have been sexually harassed/raped by the SC candidate.

"the Court's newest Justice is delegated to meet with that member and convey the view that retirement should be seriously considered. Usually, retirement ensues without resistance."

Oh, if that happens, can you see the Press's reaction? Having the rapist Trump stooge Bret Kavanaugh convey the message to the righteous RGB to retire will cause immediate impeachment proceedings not only against Trump but against Kavanaugh.

Zeke Emanuel, one of the brains behind 0bamacare said there’s no reason why anyone needs to live past 75. By this standard RBG is 10 yrs past her expiration date. Let her set an example for the rest of us and show us how it’s done. She should refuse further treatment, retire, get her affairs in order and go home on a morphine drip and croak “with dignity “.

But, she has too much hate to do what's right.

Partner, you hit right on the nose on why she will not retire.

We will not waste our time to see this so called movie.

When law and order are completely or else very near completely absent. IOW, when LEOs no longer do their job - either b/c they are told to “stand down,” or b/c they are cowards, indifferent to their duty.

In the final measure, it is for the citizens to defend their lives and property - not the government. Not the government on any level, because it is we citizens who make up the nation. It is therefore our duty to defend it from enemies foreign and domestic. Recall that, as it was defined by the founders and (IIRC) written in the Federalist, the “militia” is ALL able bodied men.

Many would perhaps argue that, until the violence and disruptions come to your specific area, you should not act preemptively. I disagree with that argument ...

If free men, who are able and willing to fight, hesitate to act when the odds of winning are on their side, then they may find themselves in a situation where the odds of winning are either fair or weighted against their success.

Worse, the situation may deteriorate to so grave a level that the righteous have no chance at winning - but must fight anyway: for reason that it is better to fight and die standing on one’s feet, then to exist as a slave on one’s knees.

Insofar as local leadership? Each man must discern that for himself, basing his decision on factors of both individual character and the facts on the ground as they evolve. Expediency does not always favor a well-conceived plan; but, in a rapidly changing environment of civil unrest, a hastily made plan is better than no plan.

In the meantime, keep stocking ammo - because, in a real gunfight, you can never have too much ammo. More importantly, PRACTICE your craft until it is second nature, especially what to do if your weapon jams.

Fortunately, the smears against Kavanaugh backfired on the Dems so neither they nor the news media are likely to want to remind the public. You may be right though. Trump tends to make the Dems and the news media repeat their mistakes.

RBG and the radical Left will insist on her being a SCOTUS judge as long as she can breath, competent or not.
