Action on climate change has been stymied by politics, lobbying by energy companies and the natural pace of scientific research — but one of the most significant barriers is our own minds.
Think about how every town seems to have a traffic intersection that’s needlessly dangerous. No matter how many times you think to yourself, “They should really put in a stoplight here,” you don’t call the proper authorities. (You’re already late for work, and it feels like someone else’s problem to solve.)
Our mental responses to global warming and climate change follow a similar script. What needs to be done is clear enough — stop greenhouse gases from occupying the atmosphere — and yet progress moves at a snail’s pace. Three decades passed between the first report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the international community’s pledge for action through the Paris climate accords.

We’re getting old. It was Earth Day, 1990 (nearly 29 years ago now). It was both the 20th anniversary of the original Earth Day (no one even remembered the original until then) and it was just after their PRIMARY plan to take down the United States (via the Soviet Union) had pretty much failed, as the Berlin Wall had come down just 5 months earlier.
I remember it well, I dated a chick on that day...she ended up dumping me, but her loss in the end!
We are told that we must believe in human caused climate change and must be willing to adopt any remedies suggested by politicians and scientists. The funny thing is that we are only allowed to believe in Left Wing politicians, and as for scientists you understand that the definition of who is a scientist is very important.
A degree in Kinesiology and professed belief in human caused climate change is sufficient to qualify. Doctorates in Physics, Chemistry, and Geology with 30 years of research on using proxies in the fossil record to reconstruct ancient climates worldwide does not make you a scientist if you are guilty of wrong thinking. If you question human climate change theology, then you are an heretic and clearly not a scientist.
Humm, That’s funny. Most of the data I have seen refutes nearly everything in this article. People have also been thinking and planning for the future for longer than recorded history.
My response is, Please look at real data and stop listening to make believe horror stories.
