Nobel Chief Finally Admits He Regrets Giving Obama the Peace Prize
Godfather Politics ^ | January 3, 2019 | Warner Todd Huston

Anyone with half an ounce of brains immediately knew in 2009 that the Nobel Peace Prize committee was making itself look foolish for giving Barack Obama its top award even though he had only been president for about five minutes. Now the group's former secretary is admitting that the whole thing was a huge mistake.

Nobel's former secretary, Geir Lundestad, told the media that he thought giving Obama the award would spur him to great accomplishments. Instead, Obama did nothing of note over the next eight years.

Lundestad addressed the foolhardy decision in his recently published autobiography, according to the BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34277960

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr. Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr. Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for".

Lundestad that at first Obama greeted the situation with some good sense and initially said he did not even want to come pick the thing up.

But, soon enough his natural (and proper) embarrassment at being given the award for no logical reason was overcome by his arrogance and desire for personal adulation. He went and picked it up in person anyway.

Of course, Obama's detractors here in the U.S.A. widely made fun of the idiotic award.

As well they should. Obama did not deserve any "peace prize" before he had even fairly begun his first term. And eight years later, even Lundestad now admits that Obama did nothing even after two terms to deserve it.

It's about time they admit it.

When I was a youth, in the 1970s, I accompanied my grandmother on a car buying mission. She knew I was knowledgeable about cars, and she probably thought to have me along was reinforcement for her against the onslaught of car salesmen vs. little old lady.

We shopped a lot of dealerships, and I started to notice that at each dealership, on the glory wall of awards, they had all won the “Time Magazine Dealer of the Year” award in the same year. Evidently, it was not a territorial competition in which one dealer for the city/county/state won. Every dealer was its own territory, and therefore every dealer won.

That’s about what I thought of Obama’s Nobel Prize. It was his “Time Magazine Dealer of the Year” award. The Nobel Committee devalued the currency of the Peace Prize award, taking it down to zero.

Actually, I distinctly read, years ago, that Lundestad admitted this. I imagine his admission of it in his book, will get the same lack of exposure as his original admission did.

So, they give the Nobel prize in hopes they MIGHT do something great, huh? What a dumb thing to do.

Don't believe it. They gave it to him to "virtue signal" how non racist they were because they were supporting the first "black" American President, who became President for being "black" and absolutely nothing else.

No accomplishments to his life, his degrees given to him through affirmative action programs. Obama was the ultimate nobody who milked the system.

You can’t unsh*t a sh*t (an Obama) in the toilet. You have to flush it, but sometimes that can take more than one.

Geir Lundestad must be a bitter old white guy clinging to his Bible and his guns while eating MREs in his well stocked survival bunker.

What? ... He's a liberal European? ... Never mind.

It was a garbage award before they ever gave it to Hussein. Stupid thing just needs to be abolished.
It’s immortal - at least while Nobel’s money holds out.

Yes, he gave ISIS everything they wanted by clearing out of Iraq, arming the Syrian rebels, and pretending they were just a few fanatics that we should ignore. He left the Middle East in turmoil with millions trying to escape. I guess the Left defines ‘peace’ differently than the rest of us.

Barak Obama was the “King of the Drone Strike” during his tenure in office. I’m sure that fed into his god-complex and even the ultra-socialists on the Nobel committee could not fail to take note.

I’ve seen a lot of Nobel announcements that made me say “huh?”. This one made me laugh out loud.

Nobel peace prize now just a branch of the DNC-—Only Democrats can win. Nancy P, Ruth Ginsberg, will get the award soon. Trump, never.
