Retired Gen. David Petraeus said Monday that he doesn't "envision" returning to a government position, and said his views don't align with President Trump's on foreign affairs.
I think there does have to be policy alignment [with Trump,] and Im not sure that exists, Im afraid," Petraeus said on BBC Radio 4 when asked if he'd be willing to replace James Mattis as Defense Secretary, as first reported by Time magazine.

I would be appalled to see this man serving under Trump.
He has already shown how untrustworthy he is.
Read a long time ago and I forget where that he and Hillary were drinking buds in DC.....that’s after she’s the one who coined the “General betrayus” moniker. I always wondered what he thought sitting at the table that day during the hearing when she said it...
Was he even asked?
What makes him think he’d be asked?
For the record, I don’t think I’ll be asked, either.
Who would ask a failed general to serve ?
Petaeus came up through the Obama years. I do not trust any general who did that. Trump may have to dive deep down into the two star level to find a suitable person.
Um, who asked?
I guess hes angling for a spot in a future libtard deep state adminitration.
Nobody asked you too you homewrecker.
“How honorable of general betrayus.”
A lickspittle of a political general if there ever was one. Couldn’t keep his tongue out of Bush’s ear and Obama had to keep shaking him off his leg. Lot of good it did him in the final analysis.
He’s tied in with some big $$ Ukraine/Russian stuff. I was incensed when I read about it just a couple of days ago.
In the end he stayed out of jail.
If any of the rest of us that wore the uniform did what he did they’d still be addressing our mail “Care of Leavenworth”.
I hope he rots.
I think the purpose it serves is to let these elitist flag patrol military hierarchy pad their resumes so that they can draw down higher retirements — then go on to either “give back to the people” through public service or to impart their vast knowledge to some think tank which rips off the government.
Being asked to work for the Trump isnt something this traitor has to worry about.
All these opinions coming from general officers shows how low the standards have fallen for general officers since world war ii.
You can’t trust any of these petty prima donnas that are presently flapping their jaws to the press about their commander-in-chief, and probably never should have.
How Kelly and Mattis were dumb enough to try to take pot shots at their boss on the way out is beyond belief. That they rise to the top shows how far our military standards have fallen. Good men, better men than these whiny little girls were passed over for promotion. We would have a better military today and a safer America if those men whose careers were cut short because these treacherous political SOBs sabotaged them had lead the military and the likes of Kelly, Mattis, Hayden, Clark, Petraeus (add your own...) had never made it past LtCol.
At one point he might have been okay but the deep state definitely nailed him.
Funny how the same People we here at FR defended in the past have come back to spit in our faces.
I wonder if his wife or lover have anything to say about this? Heh, heh!
She appears to be an extremely accomplished woman on her own, having achieved many honors and with a family background of considerable distinction. The General seems to have ‘married up’ and not done well by it:

Isn’t he too busy sharing secrets with whores to help Trump? Like Slick Willie, hes too busy “ducking bimbos”.
