I imagine Elton JOhn can claim some connection because he had his first American hit about that time. The rest are junk, IMO.
I'd wager that there will be protests about the selection of groups and rappers will have to be included.

I guess... There was one actual Woodstock then the corporate suits took over the industry. Any other Woodstock would be a franchised approximation, and therefore fake.

""Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music." That's B.S.
People were inspired to gather for sex, drugs, and rock n roll.

Just wow. $750 for Santana, which was one of the best, and memorable performances.

Ft Bragg to see the primere of Woodstock in town.
Missed Janis Joplins show in Fayetville when she cancelled.
Headed off to VN about 2 months later.
Canned Heat put on a heck of a performnce.
To: Harold Shea
I say Sly & The Family Stone put on the best performance at Woodstock.

George Hamilton IV on Urge for Going. Not my cup o' tea, but he did a fair rendition.

I went to the first "Woodstock II" in 1994... it was actually quite amazing. The lineup was once in a lifetime. by the grace of God a couple of us were there offering evangelical gospel tracts in what turned out to be "Mudstock." We got in after security walked off (I was manning a South gate for a while) and the gates were opened (after promoters had made their money I think,. being sold out).
Even Howard Johnson's ran out of food, and a sudden change to very cool temps made it hard for the crowd. Very receptive crowd for us. Wish more believers were there to give the word of God out.

They will make another mess. And a Republican rented the land for the first Woodstock (which was a different location than the one in 94).

Yep - and w/o Nam, they will now sing about Syria and the bad deal to pull out - “Yippee, we all wanna go and die!” How things change when one stands for nothing but against everything right....
