WASHINGTON, DC House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) sent a letter to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker outlining the Committees joint investigation into decisions made by the Department of Justice in 2016 and 2017.
The letter sent to Majority Leader McConnell, Mr. Horowitz, and Mr. Whitaker can be found HERE.

interestingly the inspector general is included. Who has oversight over the IG? and how firm is it?
Gowdy is a barking dog and has served Congress as a barker.
But the man has no teeth. He is a pit bull trying to gum to death the radical left. He is completely ineffective.

Plus half or more of the electorate that is perfectly happy with an ever-expanding government until it consumes us all and we are a newly created Soviet “Republic.”
Just this week there was a survey saying a record number of Russians yearn for the old USSR. We now have an entire party here dedicated to having the US join the USSR.
Does anyone know if Whitaker will do anything of value?
Both complicit in running out the clock
A grand jury in DC with a jury pool 95% or more swamp loyalists? I believe that we have to heal the DOJ before any investigations of Clinton foundation have any hope. And congress won't help unless we force it to do its duty.
William Barr needs RINO senate votes to be confirmed, but if he is confirmed, would he clean up the DOJ, starting with appointing a special counsel to investigate deep state interference in 2016?
Excuse my cynicism, but how is a corrupt DOJ going to investigate itself and its pals?
This and the wall stop me from saying I will vote for him in 20.
Your remark is EXACTLY WHY the Democrats are blocking the wall. Trump has accomplished many major things but people like you think President Trump can make everything happen ALL BY HIMSELF! Tunnel Vision People need to wake up. Turn your fire on the people who deserve being burned, the DEMocRATS one and ALL.
I believe the Goodlatte Committee sent several criminal referrals to the DOJ last Spring. Grassley’s Committee also sent a criminal referral.
More specifically, the GOP leadership has failed both Trump AND the few good congress critters on the committees.
I remember Grassley sent at least one.
I dont recall the House sending a referral.
Committee referrals to the DOJ included Hillary Clinton, Christopher Steele, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Andrew McCabe, and others.
Committees make criminal referrals somewhat often.
Referrals have no legal status and the DOJ retains absolute prosecutorial discretion in investigation and prosecution. It’s up to the Executive Branch.
I don’t vote dem how would I turn my “fire” on them If the desk can stop him then there’s no wall. Why do I need him. N wall, high deficits, clinton free, ........ IF he can’t prodiuce on the big ticket items you’re the one who has a problem you re=elect him sp you can “feel good” like a liberal;.
My tunnel vision allows me to focus the goals, his promises and the reason I voted for him..
Your tunnel vision is excusing the Dems from all responsibility for our tragic state of affairs in national security. He HAS produced oin a lot of “big tickets” despit the Dems. You completely ignore the economy which is better than it has been in decades. If you don’t think the economy is a big ticket item or the tax relief for the middle class which has passed YOU are the brain dead tunnel visionary we do NoT need at all.
Specifically, they sent criminal referrals to Sessions for: former FBI Director James Comey, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as well as FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his lover, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, for separate violations.
The criminal referrals, first reported by investigative journalist Sara Carter, were made by Rep. Ron Desantis (R-FL), a senior member of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform Committees who is leaving the House to run for Florida governor, and ten other colleagues.
Signatories included: GOP Reps. Andy Biggs (AZ), Dave Brat (VA), Jeff Duncan (SC), Matt Gaetz (FL), Paul A. Gosar (AZ), Andy Harris (MD), Jody Hice (GA), Todd Rokita (IN), Claudia Tenney (NY), and Ted Yoho (FL).
I am not ignoring anything. I am addressing major gaps. I voted for him for economy A, wall, F, Clinton in prison F
Fair points
Thats an excuse. Even if Trump were to drain the DOJ (many Presidents before him have fired almost all federal prosecutors) the Senate wouldnt do squat. This mantra that boogey man republicans are going to side with democrats to impeach an action constitutionally protected and reserved to the Executive is HOG wash. Its just a way to make an excuse and then continue whining about Congress.
One man against a 4 trillion dollar corrupt stasi state[in firm control by the radical left], both parties, corrupt courts and fakestream media. That makes him a PINO. President in Name Only.
I include your poster boy, count copulot aka ted cruz, amongst the neverTrumpers and rinos(comprising the GOP) who are helping the corrupt state carry out their coup because of their silence. Most of the GOP are openly supporting mueller and his coup.
This is years old news. Where have you been?
We all know, now, if we didn’t before, that the House, under Paul Ryan’s leadership, did NOTHING of any value, for our country, in general, and conservatives, in particular. All these House committee hearings have done, is tell us, impotently, that the deep state is worse than we ever thought possible. Ryan could have gotten, but didn’t, a lot of Republican campaign promises through the House; no doubt their private meetings, lunches, and other get togethers, produced smirks, as well as outright laughter, at how they, once again, betrayed us. Now the democrats will have their turn, and it will not be pretty.
However, the Senate also has committees that can investigate. Is Mitchell any less evil than Ryan and their mutual cohort? Have Republican lawmakers gotten the message yet, that they will continue to lose elections, if they do not start keeping their promises to us? Time will tell, but since we cannot make them keep those promises, even if we vote them out, my suggestion is to harass them mercilessly, within our power to do so, legally, and above all, pray without ceasing!
