Tech-industry juggernauts Apple, Samsung and Huawei each have their own unique and strategic (yet often hilarious) way of taunting one anothers flagship devices. But amid recent events like the uncertain state of U.S. China Trade relations and arrest of the firms Chief Financial Officer, Meng Wanzhou, the riff between Chinas Huawei Technologies Co. and U.S.-based Apple, Inc. has escalated far beyond their typical friendly-fire.
Some 20+ Chinese firms have already urged their employees to boycott Apple products and, in retaliation, encourage them to buy from Huawei instead.
Most firms partaking of these anti-Apple boycotts are reportedly offering their employees up to a 20 percent subsidy off of the cost of a new Huawei smartphone though some are giving new devices free of charge, too, according to Nikkei Asian Review. In addition to promoting the purchase of Huawei smartphones, nearly all of these nationally-known Chinese firms have announced plans to increase their purchases of other Huawei products including business management solutions and equipment.

No problemo. Since Apples sales in China are being limited, no corporate harm will be done by having its contracted assembler operations MOVED OUT OF CHINA to India, Vietnam and America.
Do it, Apple.
Huawei is a cancer and every Chinese company is it’s host.
I hate both both Apol and Huwai and will just grab the popcorn...
Hey china - just remember that boycotts are a two way street and you have much more to lose.
Move it anywhere but China. I was talking with somebody in the IT industry recently, and he said that the biggest business in the US is probably that of preventing or patching Chinese hacking or hacking attempts. They are conducting war against us and Trump is the only one who seems to understand this.
Has anyone else noted that this so-called “trade war” is hitting liberal darlings the worst in the media?
Boycotts mandated by the communist party?
The Chicoms especially want their subjects to use their own spy devices to tie into Dragonfly Eye seamlessly. Whipping up nationalism is as predictable as the sunrise tomorrow in China, and the sheeple there will sign up in droves to be controlled and monitored more closely.
I had hardly heard of Huawei (maybe 6 ads in a year) before that executive was arrested in Vancouver, and now I am seeing ads often several times daily.
I wonder if this whole kerfuffle isn’t just a way to get their name out there more than anything else...
Jack Ma isn't laughing...
Korea's Samsung has a lot riding on the upcoming Galaxy pad model. Apple's CPU refresh, iPhone refresh, and OS refresh in 2019 will probably be more than just an interim update, and nearer the end of 2019 there is likely to be a major update/change to notebook and desktop CPU hardware, and possibly another iPad update. The services update is reportedly to include the Texture news/mag digital subscription service on Apple devices, and an original content streaming service. Meanwhile the iPhone XR is said to account for about one-third of all iPhone sales (that's a lot of phones). AAPL closed down a little today, and about $80 off its all-time high (which it hit a few months back). Year-end is generally a downtick time for the market in general, as profit-taking as well as tax-motivated loss-taking goes on ahead of the 31st.
I think this is waking up all the people in North America to what China is really about, and maybe, just maybe we should be more concerned about China than Russia. Canadians are definitely seeing what bad actors they are now.

Hush! Now be quiet. Let the liberal run American companies continue to loose their stock value on a weekly basis.
Boycotts mandated by the communist party?

Now being effectively enforced by Chinas new all-seeing Social Credit System.
A crazy foolish mistake by Apple to tie themselves to China.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Great minds think alike.
Perfect response. China needs Apple far more than Apple needs China
Huawei is likely one of the biggest providers of open doors to user data in the world - directly to the communist regime in China. No way would I want one of their devices.
As for Apple, China was already boycotting the latest iPhones due to their excessive price points. Patriotism is a lesser consideration. :)
