Schools in southern China are forcing children to wear uniforms embedded with computer chips that track their movement and trigger an alarm if they skip class.
More that more than 10 schools in Guizhou province and the neighboring autonomous region of Guangxi are now requiring students to wear intelligent uniforms, according to the state-run newspaper The Global Times.
Two chips, sown into the shoulders of school jackets, can sustain around 500 wash cycles and temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius, according to the Guizhou Guanyu Technology Company, their manufacturer.
On its website, Guizhou Guanyu boasts that the firm was established in response to the Communist Party's call for the creation of "smart campuses".
The uniforms allow teachers and parents to track students movement, sending out an alert if they are not present in a lesson.
Facial-recognition scanners at school gates match the chips with the correct student, meaning that any who try to swap jackets in order to bunk off will be caught.

Might as well just stake them out in the yard for recess, too.
Sister Francis Mary would have LOVED to have these when I was in school.
The State ‘owns’ everyone in Communist counties. Disturbingly, there are way too many in the US who think that’s perfectly OK. ‘It takes a village’..
Chang, why are you the only one in class and why do you seem to be wearing thirty shirts?
Totally racist.
Unless they program the system to allow minorities extra time.
China and Iran. Liberal dreams.
Provided they don’t have to live under those rules, though.
Only the proles, not the elites.
Ping to metmom and the HSing list. Yes this is China but is it coming to a district near you?
Mandate “Intelligent” Uniforms for ALL Government workers, included elected officials like Congress.
Ha ha!
If you carry a cell phone or soon credit cards, you really can’t hide. You will be found if necessary.
I don’t think we realize how horrible the Chinese government is. Every phase of your life is in check. You are not free. You work and the state is the one that profits.
They’ve got us racing to send in our DNA, too.
“If you carry a cell phone or soon credit cards, you really cant hide. You will be found if necessary.”
Navy NCIS taught me that 15 years ago. :-)
The globalists regard China’s unfolding tech-dystopia with envy filled eyes, and are making a study of it.
In communists countries walls are built to keep people from escaping.
In free countries walls are built to keep others from breaking in.
China’s doing it on the cheap - they’ve discovered a way to force citizens to carry the wall on their backs...
Nothing stops a determined teenager. Facial recognition at the gate? So, slip out away from the gate and pay a classmate to carry your jacket from class to class and drop it off in your locker before they exit the gate.
The uniform chips follows the kids everywhere they wear the jacket. So, much like American schools and their laptops that know every keystroke the student makes even at home. Big Brother sees all.
This has got to really PISS OFF the Democrats as doing this in the United States would require kids wear uniforms, which might lead to better behavior, which is TOTALLY AGAINST what Democrats stand for.
I think the only option left for the Democrats who country our schools is IMPLANTS, which would, of course, be done without parental consent (just like showing x-rated films in sex ed is now done). My guess is that they’ll require an inoculation (i.e., implant injection) to go on a multi-day field trip somewhere - or come up with something else, but in any case, they WILL get this system in place here.
Won’t be long and we will have chipped student ID cards here.
