NEW YORK In testimony, James Comey admitted that when he infamously briefed then President-elect Donald Trump about the controversial dossier, Comey did not inform the incoming president about who financed the document.
The detail, contained in a second round of Comeys testimony released earlier this week, is particularly relevant since the embattled former FBI director admitted in testimony two weeks ago that he was aware the dossier authored by former British spy Christopher Steele was financed by Democrats who opposed Trump.
Comeys seeming withholding of information from Trump about the political origins of the dossier raises further questions. Comey last year stated that he pushed back against a request from Trump to possibly investigate the origins of salacious material meaning the dossier that the agency possessed in the course of its investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
In testimony before the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees on Monday, Comey was asked whether he informed Trump about the dossiers financing.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) asked: In this meeting, did you tell the President who had financed the dossier?
No, was Comeys simple reply.
Jordan was referring to Comeys early January 2017 official briefing to Trump about the dossier. That briefing was subsequently leaked to the news media, with CNN on January 10, 2017 breaking the story that the contents of the dossier were presented during classified briefings one week earlier to Trump and then-President Barack Obama.
Prior to CNNs report leaking the briefings, which was picked up by news agencies worldwide, the contents of the dossier had been circulating among news media outlets, but the sensational claims were largely considered too risky to publish.

We used to call this Obstruction of Justice!
And since he recorded his briefing with the POTUS, he has a memory of it.
When does this POS go to prison?
The POTUS-elect
his own brother handled the accounting of the
coverup of monies used to PAY for the corrupt
fantasy used to attempt to take out an ELECTED POTUS.
no one will ever believe in Law again absent
military trials and hangings.
Comey is above the law. He is not responsible for his own actions. The media is instructed to not focus on Comey and other friends who hate Trump.
He did not tell Trump it was paid for by Hillary because he knew it would have stopped the hoax on a dime.
I expect this fact to be buried never to be reported by the lamestream. Would prove the lamestream lied and liars hate truth telling
This is enough to get an indictment against Comey, under RICO.
These effers were influence peddling racketeers working against a duly elected President. They need jail time.
Exactly. My question is why hasnt he been indicted by DOJ yet?
Comey was under the mistaken impression he was running the old KGB - and his job was to squash opposition to ‘the PARTY’...
Comeys a thug.
We knew this a long time ago.
There was a huge game inside Washington, and particularly the FBI, to see who was going to be the one to trick Trump into breaking the law. Comey was one of them. All of his actions were intended to engender a certain level of trust or comfort and get him to slip up somehow.
When all the RINOs are elected out of office. 2 years of majority and Trump is the guy who gets his ass investigated off, unreal.
This man needs to be psychoanalyzed - he’s very immature..his behavior is more like a child being quizzed about bad behavior than a professional with lots of experience in his field. He thinks all his cute remarks will obscure the fact that he really messed up!
That is also my impression of him. He doesn’t seem to understand the gravity of what he has done. He wraps his arguments in emotional appeals.
And that's what the conspiracy to take down the President is all about.
>Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) asked: In this meeting, did you tell the President who had financed the dossier?

Comey slipped up, IMHO. This would have been a great place for one of his self-serving memory lapses. “I don’t recall.”
Question for any lawyers here (even sea lawyers):
Given the fact that the dossier was financed as political opposition research, and that nearly none of the allegations within were vetted, let alone verified, how is it that the FISA warrant is still valid? Further, how is Mueller’s investigation still legal?
Why is this not being asked in the media? How about Congress?
“There was a huge game inside Washington, and particularly the FBI, to see who was going to be the one to trick Trump into breaking the law. Comey was one of them.”
That’s what much of this sounds like. It’s fortunate Trump was careful enough to avoid these tricks. Probably he could sense these deviant’s anxiety to his proper election and didn’t trust them too far.
While they felt their overwhelming forces in high places would surely be able to trip him up and took big chances to get it done. Big ILLEGAL chances.
Short of taking him out early their risks left them very exposed to prosecution from anything close to a competent Justice Dept.
Just deserts might be served or might not, but I think this tip of the illicit iceberg we’re seeing might precede some very satisfying, popcorn munching indictments and convictions.
