Utah ranks No. 1 among the states for its population growth rate this decade thanks to its high birthrate plus a strong economy that attracts people from other states and abroad.
Growth slowed a bit here recently and Utah ranked No. 3 for 2018, according to estimates released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
We added nearly 400,000 people this decade, the equivalent of adding two cities the size of Salt Lake City, said Pam Perlich, director of demographic research at the University of Utah's Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute.
In just the past year, Utah added 57,987 residents the equivalent of adding a Taylorsville-size city.
The Census Bureau now estimates Utahs population at 3,161,105.

I’d be willing to bet a large contingent of them are from South of the US border.
.....or Mexico-Honduras-Guatemala-El Salvador?..................
Be wary, the California “expatriates” are subject to be carrying the virus of “modifying” the governing regimen to conform to the same failing standards of the place they left....
But where shall they move onto next when Utah fails?
Utah, beware of Mexifornication.
They’re liberal, sleazy, and it’s always about them.
Lets talk demographics.

Good bye Olde West.
A group just last night was discussing families at Christmas - gal from Utah 50 something said her grandmother had 12 kids - her step grandfather had 8 - there were 20 kids in the family. That provides a lot of growth over the next few generations too.
3.2 beer and Mormons
No thanks
Having three wives helps in this regard.
“ILLINOIS POPULATION LOSS WORSENS FOR 5TH STRAIGHT YEAR”
That’s because Illinois sucks in long strokes.
It’s not all of Utah, yet. If you do a drive through of the Salt Lake Metro area, also known as the Wasatch Front, you will lose count of the excavators moving dirt. It looks like Denver/CO Spgs 35 years ago. This will no doubt change the political landscape as it did CO.
Great skiing though....
Thanks, NtI!
YAY! I can be counted! Well, not really because my vehicle isn’t registered, yet. I do like it here, though. Mountains!
Don’t bet on it. Not too many places here have bi-lingual signs. For the most part, most of the state is a bunch of law-abiding citizens. that means they don’t want to hire someone who isn’t here legally.
Utah is pretty conservative, law-abiding and patriotic, and most homes have guns and lots of trucks have them on their gun racks. If you haven’t lived here, you might want to visit.
How many Mormons do you know?
