Democrat wants border official to step down after girl’s death

LORDSBURG – Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, called for the head of Customs and Border Protection to “step down” after a congressional delegation visited the New Mexico stretch of border where a 7-year-old girl died after crossing the border illegally and being taken into custody.

“There was nobody on board who could offer any kind of medical help to her and no medically trained personnel,” Castro said about the bus used by the Border Patrol to transport the child among a large group of migrants from Antelope Wells to Lordsburg.

On Tuesday, an 11-member delegation of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus retraced Jakelin Caal Maquin’s final steps, starting in the remote area where she and her father crossed the border with 163 other migrants near the Antelope Wells port of entry in New Mexico’s Bootheel.

Rep. Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico led the delegation during the tour of Antelope Wells and the Border Patrol’s Bounds Forward Operating Base. The Democrat said there is a “water contamination issue,” no running water, and two portable toilets for Border Patrol agents and the migrants they take into custody.

The delegation then took the same 1½-hour drive to the Lordsburg Border Patrol Substation for a tour of “what I would describe as inhumane holding cells, where we saw children with adults in overcrowded facilities with a shared toilet, completely open,” Luján told a news conference.

“A young girl and her mother wanted water in one of the holding facilities, but there were no cups,” Luján said.

Another example of how Democrats make a human tragedy all about them.

It was revealed today that the little girl died of sepsis and was highly likely very sick prior to arriving in the US. Also, it was reported that there was water available to her prior to being found by the Border Patrol but that she had not consumed any. Her fever was 105.9 degrees and the infection was so far along when she was found that no amount of treatment could have saved her.

These were uninvited guests not people paying to use a health spa. Border control went above and beyond. The Dems & Obama caused this death by making America an attractive nuisance and not building a wall.

I always look to Congressmen to be experts on sanitation, water supply management, emergency medical procedures, international border management, Federal Border Patrol employee policies, etc. Especially Dimocrap Congressmen. They are such experts on anything and everything. Just like Leftist lawyers. We just have to continue to let them do anything they want. We are so lucky to have them in charge of us. For every innocent US citizen who is killed by an illegal, one Democrat senator has to step down.

When the senators are gone, then start with the congress.

Maybe the dems will spring for all BP agents to be EMT certified, have a medical helicopter with a nurse and doctor along with fully supplied clinics at every border crossing. I am sure they could talk motel chains to build at least 40 room units at these facilities supplied at a nominal rate for detainees awaiting transport. It's the least we can do. /S
