WASHINGTON—The U.S. military is preparing to withdraw its forces from Syria, people familiar with the matter said Wednesday, a move that marks an abrupt reversal of the American military strategy in the Middle East.

U.S. officials began informing partners in northeastern Syria of their plans to begin an immediate pullout of American forces from the region where they have been trying to wrap up the campaign against Islamic State, the people said.

first of all, special forces don’t advertise where they are any more than what they’re doing. they’re advisers. advisers aren’t typically in harms way, and they certainly aren’t in the front lines of combat.

why you want to make this sound like an obama-esque bug out is beyond me.

“why you want to make this sound like an obama-esque bug out is beyond me.”

I’m not.

It is absolutely the right thing to do and fully comports with US National Interests.

Obama never did anything in US interest.

Oh, and those “advisers” are Green Beret types. While not Delta Force, there are some of those there too, along with SEALs.

They are not regular troops.

That you can bet they are. It’s called Ezekiel 38. I figure that’s what you meant.

I hope so and I bet he was surrounded by arm chair generals leading up this decision begging him to stay.

Man I’ve been on the edge of my seat since 2016 over this alliance.
With the USA out of the way, it may be sooner than you think.

Good. Pull ‘em out and let the savages kill each other as they’ve done forever. Not our concern.

The Democrats WILL create a Constitutional Crisis if they can. I hope they can’t but I’m sure they will try.

Meanwhile, the fools, I mean the Democrats, the Progressive and the Socialists are trying to erase the sovereignty of the United States of America.

Keep them confused, that seems to be the Trump pattern. Saw a report that there are still 30,000 active ISIS people in the area. What will happen to the Kurds?

the USA shouldn't have gotten involved in Syria. Thanks to Obama we ended up supporting the jihadis

assad was the man to support

No, we supported the Syrian revolutionaries that many can not distinguish from Islamic radicals that co opted the Syrian revolution

“FAR better than under Turkey or Iran.”

Not so. Like Sadam the Assads moved Syrian-Arabs and Syrian-Turks into areas of Syria that formally once had Kurdish majorities to reduce or eliminate their domiance in some areas and insure the Assads had loyal forces (loyal to them) that the Kurds knew the Assads could call on should the Kurds show any lack of allegience. Instead of direct genocide it was systematic political containment (just as China has since 1949 moved more and more Han into provinces where the Han were once just a minority).
