VATICAN REFUSES TO OFFER ASYLUM TO ASIA BIBI
Church Militant ^ | 12/17/2018 | David Nussman

After years of struggle in the courts, Aasiya Noreen "Asia" Bibi — a Catholic mother of five — was acquited of charges of blasphemy in the Pakistan Supreme Court on Oct. 31. Islamic fundamentalists all over Pakistan immediately began protesting the acquittal. Many of the protesters demanded Bibi's death for her alleged blasphemy against the prophet Mohammad.

Since her acquittal, Bibi and her family have lived in fear for their lives. Many countries, such as Italy and Canada, have considered offering asylum to Bibi and her family members. Efforts to help the persecuted Catholic family have also been proposed in the United States and the United Kingdom.

But Cdl. Pietro Parolin, the Vatican's secretary of state, has said that the Vatican is not working to offer asylum to the family. He reportedly explained in November that the Vatican is not engaging in diplomatic activity to try to save Bibi, adding, "It's an issue inside Pakistan, I hope it can be resolved in the best way."

Hell, bring her HERE.

That’s a REAL asylum case, unlike the freeloader horde that we stopped at the border.

During the days of John Paul 2, I was always amazed to hear people say they hated the Pope.

I couldn’t figure it out.

Now? I COMPLETELY understand.

Like, say, Klaus Barbie.

Oh, wait ... that wasn't the Vatican ...

At least you didn't try to deny the hundreds of thousands of Jews saved by the Vatican at the direct orders of Pius XII. Some idiots actually do that.

I don’t hate him. I pray every day for his repentance and conversion.

The pope is not infallible on everything he decrees. Just on specific decrees

And then he can proclaim that her death shows the beauty of coexistence with our brothers in faith or something like that.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to get her out? I have a spare room.

Pardon me, but I’m sure bunk beds would be the least of their concerns. You’d best forget it and don’t trouble yourself.

According to dogma, The Pope is infallible as he is supposed to be a messenger of God. My church got this part wrong!

Francis is indeed acting hypocritically, but as you probably know and other RCs will tell you, according to dogma, the Pope is only held to be infallible in formally defining a matter of faith or morals for the whole church to keep, to which RCs are to render the strongest form of submission, assent of faith.

When her bishops are gathered together and in union with papa likewise define a matter of faith or morals for the whole church to keep then such decrees are also held to be infallible.

Whereby Rome presumed to infallibly declare she is and will be perpetually infallible whenever she speaks in accordance with her infallibly defined (scope and subject-based) formula, which renders her declaration that she is infallible, to be infallible, as well as all else she accordingly declares.

Truly your church got this part wrong! For nowhere in Scripture was this perpetual magisterial infallibility of office promised, nor essential for authority and for providing and preserving faith. Neither does being the historical magisterial stewards of Diviner revelation men such are infallible. Nor are infallible the many distinctive Catholic teachings which are not manifest in the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed

Sorry to go all doctrine on you, for you are right that the actions of the Vatican are not consistent with its"open the borders" type rhetoric

He needs to take some time out from sheltering pedophiles to brush up on his Old Testament.

If they don't mind bunk beds we could take them all.

Your solution is ingenious! Our living/dining area could fit bunk beds and we could all watch TV together!

I asked my pastor and he will pass the question up.

I know I can not take care of the world but this is one small family. And they need help.
