The Boy Scouts of America is considering filing for bankruptcy protection as it faces dwindling membership and escalating legal costs related to lawsuits over how it handled allegations of sex abuse.
Leaders of the Boy Scouts, one of the country’s largest youth organizations, have hired law firm Sidley Austin LLP for assistance with a possible chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, according to people familiar with the matter.
Founded in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America says that more than 110 million people have participated in its educational programs, which promote outdoors skills, character-building and leadership.
The Boy Scouts have been at the center of sexual-abuse scandals in the past, and the organization is facing a number of lawsuits that allege inappropriate conduct by employees or volunteers in incidents dating back as far as the 1960s. Filing for bankruptcy would stop the litigation and would give the nonprofit a chance to negotiate with victims who have sued.

I really enjoyed my years in the boy scouts. I am very sad that my younger grandchildren will probably not get to have the same type of fun, learning, and comradery that I had. My oldest grandson has been active in the explorer scouts which is affiliated with the Boy Scouts. But he lives in a small town and I don’t think any weird crap is going on there.

Girl Scouts got that cookie racket, so they’ll probably be able to tough it out a lot longer.
And...no one saw this coming. Use to support them. Not any more. Adding girls is just the latest in BAD moves. Too bad really. My cousin made Eagle Scout in the 60’s. It was a great organization then.

I think a very large percentage of gays would like to seduce teen boys, if given an opportunity.
Considering how many girls in their early teens get pregnant, many by older men, the answer is obviously yes.
But girls tend to be watched over more closely than boys.
Actually, the definition of pederast is "a man who desires or engages in sexual activity with a boy", so the term exclusively describes homosexual activity.
