California, a state with every gun control imaginable, witnessed an 18 percent rise in firearm homicides from 2014 to 2016.
This rise in firearm homicides comes despite the fact that Democrats, gun control groups, and the establishment media constantly claim that states with the strictest gun controls see lower rates of violence and death.
California has universal background checks, gun registration requirements, red flag laws (i.e., Gun Violence Restraining Orders), a ten-day waiting period for gun purchases, an assault weapons ban, a one-gun-per-month limit on handgun purchases, a minimum firearm purchase age of 21, a ban on campus carry, a good cause restriction for concealed carry permit issuance, and controls on the purchase of ammunition. The ammunition controls limit law-abiding Californians to buying ammunition from state-approved vendorsall of whom are in-state sellersand adds a fee to any ammunition bought online, also requiring that ammunition to be shipped to a state-approved vendor for pickup.

What parents? Didn’t you know, It takes a village.

First, you dont got to do something, but should consider shootings as public health crises.
President Obama ordered a gun violence study by Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The study concluded self-defense can be an important crime deterrent and there was no evidence gun restrictions reduced gun violence. Skeptics can pay $38 for their own copy. However, the CDC study Bill Clinton ordered in 2003 presented the same conclusions, and that one is free on line.
The Clinton Administration also commissioned in 2005 a National Science Foundation (NSF) study finding no positive correlation between gun control laws and other measures after consulting 400 sources and doing its own research. The only dissent detailed in Appendix A was John Lotts conclusion concealed carry laws do drive down murder rates.
The dissent discussed a twenty-year study by John Lott and William Landes from the University of Chicago Law School. That and subsequent Lott studies the NSF reviewed correlated passage of concealed carry laws with large decreases in multiple victim shootings, and reduced harm when shootings did occur.
Since guns have the volition of a cabbage, and laws controlling violence by controlling guns have proved futile, the standard emotional, asymmetrical reactions only provide useful political theater and failed solutions. Consider hardening sites by limiting access and allowing concealed carry. Eliminate gun free zones, because people there enjoy the same security as chickens in a Foster Farms processing plant. Stop bureaucrats and politicians from ignoring repeated demonstrations of severe psychopathic behavior.

As you and all Normal people know, and as we need to Red-pill others that can be reached: this stupidity has nothing to do with reducing crime or saving lives. It has everything to do with increasing control.
Actually, it's probably worse than 18 percent. Last year, I was talking to a retired LEO who explained to me that some metro areas (Cali, one strongly suspects) are experts at under-reporting murders and other serious violent crimes.
.
Gov Jerry Brown released over 40,000 criminals from jail. The democrats have allowed all kinds of crime to go unpunished.
Obviously the answer is to ban cars in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. What does that have to do with homicides by guns? Not a thing but it will shut the leftists up about more gun laws.
Fast and Furious may play some role; illegal immigrants / drug cartels certainly do; ultimately the political responsibility lies with the Demagogic Party in California, in Chicago Illinois, and the country as a whole.
Liberals never let a little thing like complete and utter failure make them rethink their position.
Demonrats are a generally disgusting species...
Lessee. Bring in third world savages by the millions all the while making it increasingly difficult for law abiding Californians to own/acquire/CCW firearms. And anybody is surprised that gun crime goes up? Hmm. Who could have imagined it? /s
The Gun Grabbers will just claim this is “proof” that their gun grabbing didn’t go “far enough”. Its the same with socialists who implement socialism and then when the inevitable disaster starts to unfold, claim its proof that they didn’t go far enough.
These religious Zealots are incapable of self examination and are completely immune to all facts and reason.
It is NOT a fail because it was NEVER INTENDED to reduce crime. It is a success because it reduces gun ownership.
No gun control law is ever intended to reduce crime or enhance public safety. The sole purpose of gun control is to incrementally disarm the American populace moving to the final goal of complete prohibition of citizen gun ownership so as to make tyranny safe for the tyrants.
They were even lower before 1920, when you could buy a gun, including machine guns, across the counter in England. No registration, no permits to own or carry a gun.
And crime was much lower than it is today.
All documented in the wonderful, scholarly work of Professor Joyce Lee Malcolm.
