Trump holds all the cards in caravan Mexico dealings
American Thinker ^ | November 25, 2018 | Monica Showalter

The Trump administration is attempting to negotiate a deal with Mexico over the thousands of Central American caravan migrants camped out in Tijuana and Mexicali, and last night, announced there was one , with asylum applicants having to wait out adjudication of their claims in Mexico, not the U.S. The idea was to disincentivize junk asylum claims from applicants whose real aim is to work in the U.S. for a couple years and remit the earnings until courts get around to dismissing the claims and deports them.

Well, until Mexico said there wasn't a deal.

Which is about par for Mexico, given its weakness. After all, the migrants have already shown that they can bust down Mexico's southern border with little trouble and then shake out bus service and other succor from city, state and national authorities up and down Mexico in the hopes that the migrants will just keep moving northward and become someone else's problem. There's also the presidential transition in Mexico, with the outgoing government perfectly happy to create some problems for the incoming one, and the incoming one holding a leftwing populist stance, although Trump seems to get along well enough with them. Because obviously some talks took place and some kind of " short term " deal was reached, yet Mexico is now saying nothing happened. Yeah, sure. Watch the left cheer...

But here's some reality: Trump holds all the good cards. As Mexico balks and changes its story about whether there was ever a deal, Trump can still squeeze Mexico if it doesn't play ball.

Mexico denying the agreement defeats the most important part of the whole strategy. If the people south of Mexico understand they are going to be sitting in Mexico for 5 months only to ultimately be denied asylum, they’re going to stay right where they are and not waste their time. That’s the only long-term solution since it’s impossible to work with seditious democrats for legitimate border protection.

Open borders works two ways. With no border our control extends as far as our military and economic superiority. Just take over all these failed countries and run them right. That would make the left’s head explode! But seriously, there could be a plan for certain countries to have the citizens request a U.S. take over. Put in a contractor run government to get things going well. Venezuela would be low hanging fruit.

Sounds like Freehold, NJ which is about 30 minutes northwest of me. And of the scenario you describe none of them are legal. Here in NJ that fat slob Christie and this current piece of garbage wanted to give them drivers licenses. And this buck toothed piece of crap, Murphy wants to make NJ a sanctuary state. The country is doomed. No one can stop this. Up until some ten years ago Pemex, the nationalized Mexican oil industry was the main source of income for Mexico. Now remittances from America, to the tune of $28 billion a year(think of that)are what's keeping Mexico afloat. Without those remittances Mexico would suffer a socio-economic collapse that would send a tsunami of Mexicans across the border that would completely overwhelm the southern border. It would be a logistical and humanitarian nightmare of Biblical proportion. I'm sure every American president in the last thirty years has been told this and it's the over riding reason why there will NEVER be anything called ''comprehensive immigration reform''. Trump is most likely now finding this out and he, like his predecessors will be boxed into a corner if he just doesn't give up and go along with it. Mexico is the in law from Hell we can't get rid of. In fifteen years, twenty at the most America as we once knew it, as it is now, will be gone. We'll be nothing more than Mexico with nukes.

It’s not what Mexico says....it’s what Mexico DOES that counts.

No, no ‘deals’.

Put the hammer down now. Damn the liberal torpedoes.

And get the existing illegals out NOW!

The integrity of our borders is non-negotiable.

I imagine Mexico just wanted to squeeze a little more out of Trump before finally signing off on whatever deal.

Amazing, isn’t it. Payments sent from the UA is second only to the profits from petroleum.

We ought the tax the heck out of those payments. They are a pain there the patootie!

I hope your insider information is correct. Time will tell. If they can’t cross then TJ people will grow even more weary of the invasion, they are likely to take matters into their own hands.

And remember ... Mexicans don’t need no “stinking badges”.

Step #1: Cut off, or charge large fees for, the transfer of 10-billion un-taxed dollars each year to the Mexican economy...

Agreed, Trump understands he needs to sidestep Dems in Congress to accomplish ANYTHING.
