Trump holds all the cards in caravan Mexico dealings
American Thinker ^ | November 25, 2018 | Monica Showalter

The Trump administration is attempting to negotiate a deal with Mexico over the thousands of Central American caravan migrants camped out in Tijuana and Mexicali, and last night, announced there was one , with asylum applicants having to wait out adjudication of their claims in Mexico, not the U.S. The idea was to disincentivize junk asylum claims from applicants whose real aim is to work in the U.S. for a couple years and remit the earnings until courts get around to dismissing the claims and deports them.

Well, until Mexico said there wasn't a deal.

Which is about par for Mexico, given its weakness. After all, the migrants have already shown that they can bust down Mexico's southern border with little trouble and then shake out bus service and other succor from city, state and national authorities up and down Mexico in the hopes that the migrants will just keep moving northward and become someone else's problem. There's also the presidential transition in Mexico, with the outgoing government perfectly happy to create some problems for the incoming one, and the incoming one holding a leftwing populist stance, although Trump seems to get along well enough with them. Because obviously some talks took place and some kind of " short term " deal was reached, yet Mexico is now saying nothing happened. Yeah, sure. Watch the left cheer...

But here's some reality: Trump holds all the good cards. As Mexico balks and changes its story about whether there was ever a deal, Trump can still squeeze Mexico if it doesn't play ball.

Close the border crossing at TJ until all asylum cases have been processed, or the caravan disperses, whichever comes first.

Yeah right! Mexico was always a criminal empire and hated America. They will help the criminal any way they can as they have shown so far. Some of their citizens are tired and fearful of the immigrants but the Country is as crooked as any nation hating America.

Mexico best import is from illegals sending money for here to Mexico it’s why they have no plan or reason to stop it.
Here in Ca stop at any 7 11 store om a Friday or Saturday and note the amount money orders that go out the door.

Yep, they’re a criminal empire and they hate us but their economy depends on us.

If we close the border or just start by closing selected border crossings it’ll get their governments attention in a hurry and President Trump is a President that will do it.

No. No more ‘’asylum. No more legal immgration for at least two years, a year even. Enough. We can’t absorb everyone who wants to come here. For crying out loud we’re not Motel 6 for the whole world.

There are Mexicans that live in Tijuana but work in San Diego. There are even those that live in Tijuana but their kids go to schools in San Diego. Shutting down the border for even an hour in the morning would gridlock Tijuana and cause severe hardship. The people of Tijuana are not going to put up with this for long. Trump holds all of the cards.

Besides, even at Motel 6, the renters pay their board. Not so with this gang of freeloaders. I bet 9 of 10 don’t earn a danged penny here.

Mmmmmmmm........I tend to think that was part of the deal ........allowing Mexico the denial.

No big deal......let them deny.......as long as the invaders stay put there.

You are so right. Mexicans hate us. And I despise them. They have the richest country in Latin America and they have screwed it up royally. Mexicans are thieves and prostitutes of every stripe. Their political class steals everything in sight and blames the United States. For only one of two nations fortunate enough to share a border with The United States Mexicans seem to be hardly grateful for that fact. They feel as if they have a right to barge in here and that some how we gringos owe them. I hate them.

You make an excellent point, it may well have been part of the deal.

I know, and that’s precisely why we should close the border: to squeeze Tijuana.

Oh they do. But when you gang 20 or 30 of them into a 1,500 square foot ranch house and everyone eats the same rice and beans they can send a lot of money back to the old country. I live in southern NJ and they’re always busting Mexican illegals all jammed into some rat trap. God how I hate them. They’re destroying our country and our way of life.

President Trump, please close our entire Southern Border now. Sir, you know that you can’t negotiate with drug and Soros-funded terrorists, i.e. Mexico.
My husband and I have already had plenty of threatening encounters with Mexican, Central American illegal immigrants where we live. We need a massive ICE operation, Homeland Security, etc.

All he has to do is close the border *apart* from one tight spot in California, and wave in millions, give them free passage to the Los Angeles area, and nothing else. Pelosi, Brown, Waters, Schiff -- they'll all be laying down in front of the gate to keep out the horde, and then their entire party will become a thing of the past.

Now imagine 6,000 mobile homes doing that. Dad, brother and uncle do lawn work or factory. Mom, sister and aunt work retail and grandma cooks, cleans and babysits. There are vendors selling everything from tamales to shoe repair and ice cream, just like in a Mexican village. That was my last mobile home park in Texas.

I just heard on OAN that the plan was between President Trump and the INCOMING President of Mexico.

The Cabinet member who insists that it is not true is from the DEPARTING administration.

That make all the difference to me.
