Stone associate Jerome Corsi is in plea negotiations with special counsel

Conservative writer and conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi is in plea negotiations with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, according to Corsi and another person with knowledge of the talks.

The talks with Corsi — an associate of both President Trump and GOP operative Roger Stone — could bring Mueller’s team closer to determining whether Trump or his advisers were linked to WikiLeaks’ release of hacked Democratic emails in 2016, a key part of his long-running inquiry.

Corsi provided research on Democratic figures during the campaign to Stone, a longtime Trump adviser. For months, the special counsel has been scrutinizing Stone’s activities in an effort to determine whether he coordinated with WikiLeaks. Stone and WikiLeaks have repeatedly denied any such coordination.

Stone has said that Corsi also has a relationship with Trump, built on their shared interest in the falsehood that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.

It is not clear what information Corsi could leverage to get a deal with prosecutors. However, he told the Daily Caller last week that prosecutors are focused on whether he had developed a source with inside information about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s plans.

Corsi said he did not have a direct source to the group. Instead, he said he developed a theory that Assange had access to hacked emails belonging to Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and that WikiLeaks would release them in October 2016.

He told the Daily Caller that he shared his prediction with many people, including Stone.

If Mueller could prove that Corsi learned about Podesta’s emails from Assange or another person in contact with him, he could try to link WikiLeaks’ releases to Stone or others in Trump’s world.

Yes he did, he was co-author of John O'Neill's book, who has since passed away.

I saw O'Neill and Buzz Patterson (Author of at least three books the first of which is "Dereliction of Duty" about Clinton and the White House) at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco where they were promoting the book "Unfit For Command"

At Amazon:

At Amazon

Might as well promote Buzz's book too.

He was my "navigator" on a Tea Party trip across the country in a motor home I was driving.

He is a fantastic pilot and has a lot of great stories.

Would taking a plea deal make it sound like he’s culpable? I don’t understand law very well but this sounds like a bad deal.

How did a Harvard Ph.D. let himself get boxed into this corner?

Three little WaPo Pixies who have been pimping Russki “collusion” for over two years for the DNC are out there calling someone else “conspiracy theorists”. ROTFL. These snowflakes are a real hoot.

“There should be an independent AG”

We’re well beyond an AG being able to do anything with the corrupt DOJ full of radical leftists.

There are two options left: Trump appoints a very large special counsel or convenes military tribunals. I think I said that more than a year ago.

“Threaten to bankrupt your target with legal fees...”

Barrarty, under the common law definition is, in part, the instigation of suits at law for the purpose of harassment.

Quite unfortunately, THAT particular definition of barratry is NOT illegal in the United States.

NEVER FORGET: The United States has a LEGAL system, NOT a JUSTICE System.

Where's the Russian collusion?

How exactly did the Russians "interfere" in the 2016 election? If the Mueller report does not give a real answer to that question, the investigation is worthless, except for the purpose of creating Dem taking points.

It's worthless... Mueller's a useful idiot.

I guess it's a power play by Mueller and his thugs? As no one replied but you I'm figuring( conjecture) it's a power play because he has nothing so he tosses a bunch of crap in this and offers absolution which make him appear he colluded with Assange? Therefore they can state it's a connection to Russia and can somehow take down the bigger fish aka Trump and those closer? Just speculation.

This needs to end. It's destroying peoples lives

It sounds like opposition research to me.

Every campaign does just that, and it’s not illegal (unless a Republican is doing the opposition research on a democrat, of course).

Obama’s grandmother in Kenya has, in the past, claimed that her grandson, Barack Hussein Obama, was born in Mombasa, Kenya.

I’ve seen an old copy of the Harvard Law Review, back in the days when Obama was the head honcho at that publication.

It had a picture of a young Obama and said beneath his picture are the words, “Barack Obama, born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia...”

That’s what I think. Opposition research is not illegal. I don’t think Corsi should be going for a plea deal. Just go to trial.

So far, the reason I don’t understand how this is going down is that Meuller is keeping his cards close to the vest (not leaking anything) and Corsi says he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

Nothing I have seen so far seems to add up to Corsi going to prison for the rest of his life! He is an older guy with maybe some health issues we don’t know about, so he might be exaggerating a bit there as to how much of his useful life he has remaining...

...conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi...

Interesting the way the MSM dishes out qualifiers and titles. Would they ever apply this to Al Sharpton?
