A federal judge on Friday granted CNN's request for a court order that would temporarily reinstate network correspondent Jim Acosta's White House press pass, which had been suspended indefinitely in the wake of a fiery exchange between the reporter and President Donald Trump a week earlier.
The ruling from Judge Timothy Kelly, who was appointed by Trump, was a first victory for CNN in the ongoing case.

The rules and processes should be already developed, now let's implement them please.
Kill WH Press Briefings then.
Rule on THAT.
I heard a blurb on the radio to the effect that the judge ruled this way in the absence of a temporary restraining order (TRO).
Did anyone else catch that? If I heard correctly, all the WH needs to do is issue a TRO. They had cause IMHO, but apparently the judge felt the TRO was a necessary component without regard to the rest of the argument and ruled on that basis.
Did I hear wrong?
So when is the Judge going to start having press conferences where Jim Acosta can attend? Maybe Trump can pull the pass on that?
I WANT ONE TOO! IT IS MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!
........ This is more than likely the start of the first of many legal salvos that will be hurled against this administration in the coming months and years.
Which is why I’m trying to understand how using the fifth amendment for a civil dispute can be anything other than a sham.
Now we are having fun.
Again, this has nothing to do with the Fifth amendment. Or the First.
Gaining access to the White House is a privelage not a right. There is no adverse possession or squatter’s rights. Except for the British in 1812.
And between you and me, there isn’t anything the MSM says that is intellectual or that anyone would want to copyright.

How much you wanna bet the administrations response to this is to stop having in-person live press conferences? Teleconferencing anyone? Somebody misbehaves on a teleconference you simply cut the feed.

President Trump should just leave word with Sarah that she is not to call on any CNN reporter. There is nothing that compels that a news outlet gets called upon. 8>)
That can be accomplished on site and in person as well.
Wait a minute .. if we’re going back to “flame wars” then I’m getting my 9600-baud modem out of the closet!
I must admit I glanced at the article but didn’t read it fully. Did the judge site the 5th amendment? If so, then that makes his ruling even that much harder to understand, let alone swallow. President Trump should appeal the ruling immediately, and seek an emergency injunction to stay the ruling (if I’m stating that correctly - not a lawyer 8>). Take it to the Supreme Court.
Yes, Judges who are intimidated into ruling a certain way should find another line of work,
The problem is judgeships are a cushy secure job especially for those who had difficulty as private attorneys. They value their security over maintaining high standards of justice and in so doing sow the seeds of future revolt.
I think they should let Acosta return but be placed in the furthest corner of the back row. He should also have a Marine guard in full dress uniform standing on either side to remind him to be polite.
A judge doesn’t issue a tro unless the plaintiff’s case is likely to succeed.
BTTT
What's that say for the POTUS that appointed him?
We will see what Trump does.
This may just be a ploy by him to rile up supporters, if everything goes back to the original and Trump has no plan then it will look that way.
The White House should ...
1. Supply its own questions, provide substantive written answers and circulate them at the outset of press conferences. The press secretary should begin, ‘There are many pressing issues in the world today that raise substantive questions that we feel should be asked and that we would like to address. Since the WH press corps ‘ questions are focused elsewhere, beginning today we will assume responsibility in those areas where the press corps is derelict.’
2. As a matter of process, we will ask first if any member of the press corps has a follow up to any one of our written questions/answers. You must identify the specific question/answer before you will be allowed to ask your follow up.
3. Since this greatly expedites matters, the daily press conference will be limited to 30 minutes. President Trump will appear occasionally if the press corps uses his time well; and not otherwise.
4. The White House will grant due process to all reporters. Along with this change, we will be taking back the White House Correspondents’ Association prerogatives to determine who will have a press pass. We will instead appoint our own commission to determine those passes, establish protocals and discipline reporters who fail to follow them.
