With "The Clinton Affair," Monica Lewinsky is ready to revisit the 1998 sex scandal that nearly unraveled Bill Clinton's presidency, and she hopes by doing so she can retire the term "Lewinsky scandal" once and for all.
"I think 20 years is enough time to carry that mantle," the former White House intern, now 45, writes in a new Vanity Fair essay published Tuesday.
In the essay, she explains what motivated her to take part in the 6 1/2-hour series, which premieres Sunday (9 EST/PST) from Emmy-winning producer Blair Foster ("Get Me Roger Stone," "Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind") and Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney ("Taxi to the Dark Side," "The Looming Tower").
*SNIP*
Another impetus, she says, was grief: "Grief for the pain I caused others. Grief for the broken young woman I had been before and during my time in D.C., and the shame I still felt around that.
Grief for having been betrayed first by someone I thought was my friend, and then by a man I thought had cared for me. Grief for the years and years lost, being seen only as 'That Woman' saddled, as a young woman, with the false narrative that my mouth was merely a receptacle for a powerful mans desire. (You can imagine how those constructs impacted my personal and professional life.)"

LOL! Hillary is running AGAIN! She lost last time because many leftist women just could not stomach voting for a woman that attempted to ascend the throne by climbing over the bodies of the women abused by her misogynist husband. Not to mention that it disarmed her since it made it impossible to use the “Republican War on Women” attack on Trump. Reintroducing Monica as an adult, will grant absolution to Hillary, so the feminists can now welcome her into the MeToo movement for 2020. Only God can save us ultimately from her clutches by ensuring her next blood clot goes straight to the brain.
I feel nothing for her, she knew what she was doing, he didn’t rape her. And she 100% voted for Hillary.
I suspect not.I suspect that what we have in Monica Lewinsky is a variation of the Stockholm Syndrome.
1) Would *you* date a girl who had done the President of the United States? How can you hope to compete with *that*?
2) Would you want to risk the Clinton goon squad? She might have been too high profile (except perhaps for a carefully staged 'suicide') but they'd have no compunctions about punishing her by killing her significant other.
Grief my butt.
$$$$$$
Apologizing to Hillary is a total joke.
But I will always feel bad that people used a young adult woman as a sex joke forever and made life impossible for her. I understand the jokes and they were very funny. But she was a real person.
Also, hush money? She had nothing left to tell! (As far as we know)
LOL! Great pick!
Also, “to do a Monica”
I don’t know how she imagines doing this show could help her put this all behind her once and for all. It stirs it all up again for millions of ppl, whether or not they watch. And it introduces it all to millions in more recent generations, even if they don’t watch.
Have you even seen someone so hung up for so many years over something so stupid. She did a married guy! Back in the 90s! Get over it, already!
I think Bent Billy would love another ‘shot’ at her also but this time it wouldn’t get wasted on her dress....
I always felt sorry for her. It changed the trajectory of her life and not in a positive way.
This may be her way of reinstating the hush money.
“The feminists loved him, hated her. Tells you everything you need to know.”
Absolutely true, and pathetic.
“1) Would *you* date a girl who had done the President of the United States? How can you hope to compete with *that*?”
Really? A lot of not so impressive people have held public office a various high levels. Pretty much anyone Monica found herself with, who actually cared about her and had some integrity, would be superior to Bill Clinton. I don’t see competing with politicians, including ex-Presidents as being a very high bar.
Yeah, I can kind of imagine how a lot of her "first dates" went, and around what topics conversation centered.
Regards,
Dear Monica:
Don't you dare apologize again. His wife knew about his behavior for many years. She was willing to excuse it. She even tried to bring him back into the White House with her.
Maybe she knew about you, too, and just looked the other way.
Not as long as she is getting paid for it. And what do you call people that act in a sexual situation for money?
rwood
I don't know or care what she gets out of it but I count the education of young voters as a positive for us. Maybe even more so the heartburn it causes the Hildebeast.
She needs a good psychiatrist.
I really feel sorry for her.
And the Clinton’s owe her a debt of gratitude which will NEVER come!
