It could happen in a matter of months, says Martin Mlynczak of NASAs Langley Research Center. ________________
The sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age, wrote Dr Tony Phillips just six weeks ago, on 27 Sep 2018.
Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018 and Earths upper atmosphere is responding, says Phillips, editor of spaceweather.com.
Data from NASAs TIMED satellite show that the thermosphere (the uppermost layer of air around our planet) is cooling and shrinking, literally decreasing the radius of the atmosphere.
To help track the latest developments, Martin Mlynczak of NASAs Langley Research Center and his colleagues recently introduced the Thermosphere Climate Index.
The Thermosphere Climate Index (TCI) tells how much heat nitric oxide (NO) molecules are dumping into space. During Solar Maximum, TCI is high (meaning Hot); during Solar Minimum, it is low (meaning Cold).
Right now, it is very low indeed 10 times smaller than we see during more active phases of the solar cycle, says Mlynczak
The Thermosphere Climate Index by Mlynczak and colleagues. Displays times of Cold, Cool, Neutral, Warm, and Hot since 1940.

Record cold in a matter of months
If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold, says Mlynczak. Were not there quite yet, but it could happen in a matter of months.

ping!.................
You mean that big yellow thing in the sky influences the earth’s temperature? Wow....who’d thunk it?
It’s not true.
Obviously you’ve been brainwashed.
CO2 is the ONLY thing that matters and what’s funny is it didn’t even EXIST before humans came along.
Cold Kills
We will wish that CO2 could warm us when the Sun cycles down.
I really can’t emphasize this enough: We’re all gonna die!
Get ready for the climate change crowd to tell us that when its colder its because of global warming.
It’s going to be down to 31 tonight in Houston. That’s a record. I don’t remember ever turning the heater on this early in the year.
Snow flurries 90 miles up the road.
Hmmm. Months vs. Decades. This sure came upon us quickly. I guess we will just use our solar panels and windmills to keep warm? Can you imagine, if this pans out, what it would have been like without our domestic coal, gas, and oil industries?
Human activity now affecting sub spots.
Minorities and women most affected.
I say we launch a few thousand SUVs at the sun.

The Sun has nothing to do with it so this news is a real nothing burger, right?
Crank up the coal!..................
When I was a kid we had a coal pile out back for winter heat............
Than you for posting this. I check Robert’s site every morning for new information about what I am now sure is coming. There really is some great information there.
I would like to see Robert come over here and participate.
Here is another one I check every morning loaded with very detailed up to date data for anyone staying on top of this coming reality.
we should all go out and drive our SUVs around the cities for hours................
I don’t think they use the term “global warming”. It’s climate change. That covers both ends.
It’s the same way bookies sets the odds. They adjust them to try to get the same amount of money bet on the same side. Both ends are covered and the bookie gets the “juice”. Gore has collected a lot of “juice” since he left office.
I hope that clears it up.
Trumps Fault!
It’s FREEZING cold up here in southern Wisconsin. ‘Feets’ of snow already on the ground in the north of our state.
It was 14 degrees when I got up this morning, but the sun is shining! Yay! :)
