Pete Hegseth UNLOADS on French Leader Macron: “We Saved Your A** and Then You’re Going to...

After private talks with President Donald Trump French President Emmanuel Macron warned the global community of the dangers of nationalism in a speech aimed directly at the rising tide of populism in the United States and Europe.

President Trump is in France this weekend to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of World War I, the great war.

Over 100,000 Americans lost their lives in Europe during World War I.

Following his remarks FOX News host UNLOADED on the French president:

Pete Hegseth: It’s typical European arrogance. It really is. So we saved your ass. And then you’re going to preach to us? No really, that’s how Americans look at this. Twice we did. And you’re going to turn around and preach to us because we love our country, we love our flags, we love our military, we love our cops, we love our Second Amendment. We really believe in our First Amendment that somehow we’re the fascists? We’re the nationalists? This guy hasn’t read a history book. Doesn’t understand history… You want to have a relationship with these countries that you think are your allies and then they turn around and point a finger in your chest!

When I served in USAEUR I always wanted to tell Germans who complained about die Armee that perhaps we should have taken a lesson from the Wehrmacht in Eastern Europe about the correct way to conduct an occupation.

There was a story in Der Spiegel about das Heer in Italy during the war. When a company entered an Italian town they would grab twenty men, line them up against a wall and shoot them. Then they didn't have any trouble from the town.

Simplified (to the extreme):Globalists, temporarily allied with Muslums, vs Nationalists. When the Globalists win the Muslums will shift into high gear then everybody is a slave or dead.

GO NATIONALISTS! IGNORE the globalist media.

“It was the French MONARCHY who helped us during our revolution.”

“France came into our War for Independence not because they liked us, but because Great Britain was their enemy.”

What difference does it make that it was the Monarchy? That was the govt at the time. Their Navy/soldiers were here fighting with us. Just like we fought for them. Likewise it doesn’t matter that they also had a self interest in our fight with the Brits. If they hadn’t helped we would have LOST. Sure they have sh***y leaders now and turned into surrender monkeys, but they still get some credit.

We speak American English, which is quite different than British English. We’ve taken words from almost every country in the world and made it part of Our English.

I agree with you, the French did help us, and we in turn have helped them twice, plus adding them to the Marshall Plan after WWII. But then Europeans have never hesitated to tell Americans what and how to do something.

My Irish relatives lecture me, too. I told my uncle that if it was not for the United States most Europeans, including the Irish, would be smoke in Hitler’s ovens.

The Yurps are not our allies. It amazes me that there are any Americans who haven’t figured that out yet.

“I looked up Patriotism in Miriam Webster and it said Nationalism was the synonym.”

Outstanding point!

Recall, though, that the king of France at the time, Louis XVI, lost his head a few years later.

In the future when you know you will be meeting with them (German in-laws) why not pre empt the bs by greeting them with a hearty “Heil Hitler”?

They don’t get it.

It wasn’t the Nationalism the NAZIs got wrong, it was the Socialism.

Well... I would not go so far as to accuse all socialists with putting masses of people in gas chambers, and other like Nazi horrors.

Granted that socialism has its horrors too - the situation in Venezuela is pretty ugly - but I think we should, as Macron was NOT, be careful with our definitions and associations.

The Nazis were many things including an extreme form of Nationalism: They were also air-breathers, they were very efficient at many things, and (at least early on) they had excellent situational awareness. Nationalism per its proper definition and typical practice is no more damnable than being an air-breather*, efficient, or having good situational awareness.

*Ok, I admit a few radical Greenies might disagree. :-)

However, in some quarters, nationalism's meaning has been twisted to equate "Nazi", or expression of racial superiority to the point of trying destroy or enslave supposedly "inferior" races. That is ridiculous: Virtually ANYTHING can be taken to evil and / or destructive extremes. Even freedom itself must be bounded by self-discipline, responsibility, and God's moral guidance. Ditto for Democracy, or, say, eating potato chips. (The latter is of course not "evil" itself, but in extreme, it can be self-destructive and can result in harmful consequences to oneself and their family.)

Maybe Trump could straighten Macron out on the matter, but Macron likely will not listen.

I agree entirely.

American's "nationalism" is one of the cultural melting pot and belief in individual liberty, not purity of bloodline.

On the other hand, regarding the danger of socialism, nationalism is the belief while socialism is the enforcing sword. You can certainly have a "kind" socialism of the European type as long as everyone is willing to go along with the plan. However, when the disagreement inevitably happens about whose ox gets gored and push comes to shove, the guns come out.

Honestly history teaches there is little loyalty between allies...Most alliances will exist at most temporarily as long as the alliance serves the needs and purposes of both or all countries involved...”The enemy of my enemy is my friend”, at least for now, comes to mind...Lasting alliances are the exception...

We need to remember that countries, like individual people can be counted on to always act in their own best interests as they perceive them...

In foreign alliances, as in interpersonal relationships, setting aside our own interest on behalf of others is a rarity found usually between spouses, and parents for their children...

Trust is great, but don’t expect it or ever take it for granted...Always be prepared for betrayal in national as well as personal affairs, and plan accordingly for that contingency...

Brilliant analysis. Thank you.

“USA soon became the most powerful economic and military force.” True. We know the causes (God, virtue and free markets). We know the obstacles (selfishness, vice, and social services). And we know the solution (prayer, virtue and free markets).
