Umm, no.
this is something that is the responsibility of the citizens to care for the mentally ill and require them to be medicated and under physical supervision and even locked commitment at times.
When one stops taking psychotropics especially the heavy hitters, at some point the psychotic symptoms re-emerge.
The psychosis stops being managed.
YOU obviously know nothing about mental health, psychiatry.
Psychiatric medication is not pseudo anything. I would estimate that most likely in your church congregation approx. 1/3 of those sitting in the pews are on some form of antidepressants-—or other psychiatric medications. Thus, they are able to function in society and have a fulfilling life.
Too bad, ignorance like you are demonstrating , is not supportive of people getting help when they need it.
“Its just a theory I have, but I think criminals often dont follow laws.”
“Interesting. You might be right. But that theory requires rational thought.”
Well, we just don’t know if criminals don’t follow laws. I think the only way to solve this is more laws.
(Yes, this is all sarcasm for the impaired reader.)
Bingo. I take meds for some issues and I have never wanted to do a mass shooting. MK is the ultimate enemy of the USA.
I wrote almost the same post as you earlier. On a different thread. We need to welcome these shootings and mentally ill homeless on the street, IF WE DONT PROTECT OUR MENTALLY ILL AWAY FROM SOCIETY. (Protecting them and us.) Period.
My entire political outlook is toward freedom for the individual.
But I do not feel the mentally incapacitated are served by total freedom. We need stronger evaluations to determine who is mentally fit enough to handle our freedom. The ones who dont pass need to be kindly and safely kept out of society until they are ready.
Apparently you missed the mark entirely...
The FDA needs to acknowledge there is a problem with the current products being pushed as “safe” by big pharma.
The fact that they are a huge factor with events like this is completely being ignored and becoming more and more common and costing innocent lives.
Please don’t put words in my mouth, I said not one thing about locking people up. My complaint is that health professionals would rather shove through six patients an hour prescribing drugs rather than loose profit spending an hour with one patient who might actually be helped with just professional dialog instead. Drugs should be the very LAST resort.
They are even doing this to YOUNG CHILDREN...
It should be recognized as unethical and malpractice... They should be held accountable for their greedy practices pushing drugs that cause serious events like this.
Male crazy eyes.
D'oh! I knew that. Thanks.
The continued breakdown of our society and morality. Kids used to carry guns to school for gun clubs back in the day and there were very little to no "gun" violence at schools of all places.
Wars that have gone on way, way too long. U.S. war in Afghanistan is 17 years long and the war in Iraq is roughly 15.
Of course, the knee jerk reaction by most in the media and hollywood, is to blame the inanimate object instead of looking at the person who used it unlawfully and what might have caused him to snap.
Uh huh, sure. Do you know how the DSM works? A group of elitist, cultist pseudo-intellectuals get together and decide, with the wave of a magic wand that things should be classified as a “mental disorder” or removed from said classification.
When the DSM embraces homosexuality and “transgenderism” then science cannot be at work, because both are demonstrably against the created natural order.
Psychiatrists are not only responsible for unleashing monsters into the world who should be institutionalized, they are also responsible for the boys in your girl’s locker room.
“Long had modified his legally purchased handgun so that it could hold more rounds.
‘The handgun is designed to hold 10 rounds and one in the chamber. This weapon did have an extended magazine on it.”
The attacker gets to plan and use whatever weapons they would like - essentially without hindrance. The defender needs versatile weapons available. For the most part, weapons restrictions only affect the defender.
He appears to have gone from a muscular guy in 2014, to a much skinnier guy by 2016.
WELL, LETS GO WITH YOUR PLAN...
and that would be what? ....you sound like a Lib-—all ranting, all complaints, all hysteria -—not taking into account other factors ( like today’s leftists ) ....
But never a reasonable solution.
Get rid of ICE!!! they’re AWFUL!
AND..then, no practical solution..
Not quite correct. The micro-stamping requirement only applies to new models of guns manufacturers want to introduce for sale. As long as existing models continue to pass safety and drop tests they can still be sold.
Possession of large capacity magazines is not illegal. The NRA filed a lawsuit, which a state judge denied. The NRA appealed to federal court and a preliminary injunction was issued blocking the state from enforcing the law while the lawsuit wends its way through the courts.
Really? I am the one sounding like a “lib” when you are the one who is screaming for nanny government to provide “MORE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES” for the “mentally ill.”
That’s laughable.
I merely pointed out that your psychiatric gods are quacks.
Your logical fallacies are astounding.
Pardon me while I type the first thought I had after hearing about this.
I will bet there are a bunch of Leftists who are upset because this happened the day after the Election, not the day before.
Flame away. I have become more jaded than I would have ever imagined.
This happened where my Niece and her Friends used to hang out when they were younger. She lives out of State now and is beside herself waiting to find out of anyone she knew were the Victims of this Evil.
What a terrible shame.
Long had modified his legally purchased handgun so that it could hold more rounds.
The handgun is designed to hold 10 rounds and one in the chamber. This weapon did have an extended magazine on it.
