Romney is more liberal than most of us would like, but I don’t think he’ll be an unpredictable wildcard who caves under pressure and sabotages the caucus as a battle comes down to crunch time. Nor do I think he’ll sell out the side out of petty personal pique, unlike some notorious examples who will remain nameless. He may go off the reservation from time to time, but the leadership will know where he stands from the beginning and calculate accordingly. And if he commits to something, I think he’ll be true to his word and hang tough. I wish he were more conservative, but I think he’s honorable.
