GOP Senate gains are not likely in 2020. The GOP will be defending at least 20 of the 33 seats up for election that year, and a few of them — like Arizona and North Carolina — will likely be vulnerable. With the exception of Alabama, most Democrat seats look pretty safe.

I’d say there’s only about 200,000 votes left to count in AZ, mostly in Maricopa County, which has split almost exactly 50/50 so far. So with a 22K lead, McSally is in good shape unless there’s a big pocket of Democrat votes from some areas that haven’t reported yet. If her lead gets whittled down more then this could go into a recount. I’m hoping she hangs onto at least a 10,000 vote lead.

Looks like McSally is going to pick up approximately another 5,000 votes relative to Sinema when Pinal County finishes reporting all votes. Martha is winning big in Pinal so far.

Time for “Young” to retire. (or rather 2020 is), I was expecting him to lose the way this was going, there were polls.

Dunleavy, thank Goodness. Stephenowski still up in CT.

Oregon wasn’t that close.

IA and SD were underwhelming holds.

I’m disappointed as well about the House, but, then I stepped back and thought - I’d rather lose it now than in 2020 when Trump runs for re-election. And, the gains we made in the Senate will be there for the next 6 years with the possibility of picking up a few more seats in 2020. So, I comfort myself with this.

Yes, I agree with your comment above. It could be a lot worse, and I take comfort in what gains we did get, and some of the disasters we avoided tonight. It's the long-term political and cultural outlook of the U.S. that is extremely worrisome to me.

“The things he failed to do like building a wall will now be even more impossible to accomplish.”

Building the wall—immigration, etc and draining the swamp—restoring the rule of law, etc were the 2 things that had to be done for America to survive. The Republikan party said no to America’s survival.

LIKe I said, Flake would have lost in short order.

We’re lucky to hold the seat for six years.

Something fishy in Montana, still only 71% of ballots counted. SOS website hasn’t updated in more than an hour. Even the NY Slimes is reporting more votes than the SOS site. Those clowns need to take their shoes off to get past 10?

As long as Rosendale is ahead, that’s all that really matters.

“The things he failed to do like building a wall”

So you put the wall on President Trump instead of the backstabbing Rino’s in the House?

I looked at NYT county map. It looks like a lot of the outstanding precincts are unfavorable to Rosendale. That’s anecdotal with me tapping on counties at 3am on a cell phone, so grain of salt. The map also doesn’t go down to precinct level so I can’t tell how favorable outstanding precincts are.

Trump did what he could. He saved the Senate.

Neither Bush nor Obama managed the feat.

Yup..the man worked harder than any politician I have seen in my lifetime...if Ryan had put in one tenth of the effort, we may have had a chance in the house.

Its easier to run for an open seat than.agajnst an incumbent. Most of them
get re-elected.

One of the few good things about this House is that the RINO Ryan is gone.

We may never have a GOP House again. Then again, us older people aren’t long for this world.

I hope Rosendale pulls it out.

But I am going to have to turn in and find out tomorrow the final results.

It’s been a trip and a half to be here with everyone from last night and this early morning.

God is still on His throne, and Donald J. Trump is still the President. May good results tonight to go along with the Dem control of the House disappointment.

Take care, everyone, and get some sleep.

Rosendale just increased his lead slightly. Things are moving slowly in Montana.
