CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. President Trump on Monday paused his campaign rally in Missouri for roughly 10 minutes after an elderly woman in the crowd collapsed and required medical attention.
Trump was recounting his presidential victory of two years ago and chiding Hillary Clinton for calling some of the president's supporters "deplorables" when something appeared to catch his eye in the crowd.
"Is there a doctor in the house, please? Doctor? Please. Thank you," Trump said, pointing toward the crowd gathered on the floor of the Show Me Center.
The president urged medical staff that converged on the woman to take their time as he stepped away from the podium. At one point, he urged the crowd to "say a little prayer," at which point attendees behind the stage could be seen bowing their heads.
A short time later, the audience began singing "Amazing Grace."
The woman was eventually taken out of the crowd, and an individual in a suit signaled to Trump that she was OK.
"That was really something," Trump said, stepping back up to the podium. "I want to just thank everybody for the way you behaved. That was beautiful."
"Hopefully shell be OK," he added, before launching back into his stump speech and praising Missouri Senate candidate as an "amazing fighter."
The Missouri rally marked the third of three campaign rallies Trump held on Monday to provide a final boost to GOP Senate candidates before Election Day.
The president's rally in Fort Wayne, Ind., was also briefly interrupted by a medical incident in the crowd.
Amen!
Beautiful prayer.
Thank you, blueyon.
I was reminded of that as well. Checked in to see just how differently the media would play this.
Amen!
God doesn’t call perfect men...he calls men perfect for the job.
Thanks for that...I missed it because FOX cut away for some reason.
Theres no money to be made when the band stops playing.
The President and his supporters are AWESOME!
It was on TV, CSPAN and OANN. It was amazing sent chills up my spine when the crowd began to sing Amazing Grace.
Aren't we all?
Amen.
Free Republic needs a like button.
The crowd was us. Singing Amazing Grace for the woman who went down. President Trump was concerned and respectful.
ANY dimrat would have kept on speaking and blabbering on about how wonderful they are.
THAT was a genuine act of class and compassion.
Mr. Trump is one of us.
That was very well composed. I struggle so every time I say a prayer that it always comes out gobbledygook. I trust in the Lord to see into my heart though :)
Yes, there seemed to be a lot of this at his rallies. I think it is used to break up the mood and momentum. But it only makes Trump look better.
Ditto
Niiice. In case you missed it, the singing starts at about 7 minutes in this clip:
Donald J. Trump is all class, all class.
two very interesting things happened...
Prayer to the ONE who could help, united and spontaneous.
Worship in Song, spirit led. not man led, or woman.
These were a manifestation of God’s presence and grace...
and a harbinger that tomorrow will very likely be above and beyond all that we could ask or think.
This was also an answer to the prayer of Rush’s heart... to be home, and honored by his hometown, by the praise of his president... who came to visit Rush’s home town, on the most auspicious occasion, probably of Rush’s life. lots of us thought that when Reagan passed, we had experienced the one in a lifetime “break” from heaven politically. But tonight, Rush got to honor the man, who was sent (may believe by God almighty) to eclipse, even the great president Ronald Reagan...
Perhaps, Donald follows Ronald, like Elisha followed Elijah perhaps.
I could see in Rush’s face the culmination of a lifetime of hope that had been deferred. GHW Bush was no Reagan.
Tonight quite a night. unsurpassed. and we should be confident about tomorrow.
#7. You summed up comrade Obama in one nice, long sentence. Good job!!!
Those kind of manifestations of Grace, do not happen by chance. they are sent by God to show his heart, and to cause weeping, and wailing and gnashing of teeth to the wicked...
Which will very likely cause extreme acting out by the demoniac press and the enemies of freedom... who hate God.
